pending a shocking Hatton win over PBF, it should be:

1. Pavlik
2. Cotto
3. Calzaghe

if Hatton wins, it should be:

1. Hatton
2. Pavlik
3. Cotto.

 

Most definitely Pavlik, then Cotto, and then Calzaghe/PBF/Hatton

 

Cotto hasn't beaten a top P4P opponent, so it can't be him. mosley was about 12th before the loss, so it wasn't as big a win as Pavlik over Taylor or Mayweather over Hatton or vice versa. His win over Judah wasn't anything either. Considering most people predicted a win for Cotto within 5 rounds, was it really such a big win?

Fighter of the year should have a win over the best opposition. Mayweather has a win over DLH, who was about 15th. Hatton has a win over Castillo who was about 22nd. Whoever wins this fight will have the best couple of wins, so deserve to win it.

Calzaghe shouldn't be too close either. his win over kessler, who was ranked about 14th, is not big enough.

PBF should be fighter of the year if he beats Hatton. Going up to face Oscar at 154 for his first fight there and beating a top 10 P4P fighter in Hatton helps him as well.

 

jury's out on "Hatton-- KO Castillo, ?? Mayweather" if the ?? becomes a KO then no doubt it will be hatton.

Cottos a serious choice. KO zab win over shane. Pavlik ko miranda KO taylor. Floyd if he wins over Hatton and Hatton if he wins over Mayweather. A choice cant be made until Hatton Mayweather is over.

 

If Hatton beats Mayweather I think It will be him, good cases could be made for all mentioned though.

 

Between Hatton is he wins, Joe Calzaghe or Pavlik.
