Jackie McCoy worked wonders with Coetzee at mid career point. You wish they hooked up earlier. He'd KO party animal Cooney.

I think Gerrie outfights Gerry, avoiding that damn hook, and takes a hardfought ten round decision.

Coetzee devloped a left hook to go with his right , and did beat some prime heavies ,something Cooney never did.Cooney was vulnerable to right hands as Holmes showed,he also did not take them very well.I go for Coetzee in about 8rds.

Gerry would give Gerrie a couple of good rounds, but as the fight wears on, Gerrie takes over and stops Gerry in the eighth round.

i'd say this would be a very exciting fight but I think Coetzee KOs him because he might have the slighty better chin

I was always more impressed with Cooney's skills, to be honest. A much more educated puncher, in my opinion, though that doesn't always tell the whole story. **** it, I'll play devil's advocate and give Gerry the edge via KO after 5.

Gerry had a good chin ?

Where did that come from? Holmes had him on his ass, EARLY in their fight. I honestly believe Holmes carried him, hoping for a possible rematch.

Coetzee by KO, Coetzee took some brutal shots from Weaver, Thomas and Snipes and aquitted himself very well in each fight. Coetzee would be too much of a beast for Cooney and would score an 8th round KO.

Coetzee was a hard working legitimate contender. Cooney was never much more than a "great white hope." However, there was never much real "hope!" I like Coetzee by tko sometime after 8 rounds.

Coetzee was by far the better, more proven fighter.
