I like Marcos, But Amir has the tools to take away all of Maidana's strengths.

 

As a fan im confident he wants to fight Maidana anyway but looking through cinical eyes i hope for his own sake he doesnt vacate the title.

But then if he does it will be the decision of his bosses who will be telling him it is a good idea for his career and future and all will be well. Not that it will it will do him as much damage as actually facing and losing to him.

if he can outbox and outmove a malignaggi.... then he can do the same and even better against a puncher. He's got plenty of options vs a puncher. Play safe and easily outbox a plodder or mix it up and drop quick combos and use fast footwork. He's got the capability to take out Maidana but i think he's gonna play it safe, cuz of the two negatives - Maidana's heavy hands and suspect chin....

 

Maidana was never a mandatory for Khan, Salita was mandatory.

Maidana/Ortiz was for the interim title and happened three weeks before Khan beat Kotelnik.

 

I like Khan. I enjoy watching him fight because he's got great skills and there's always that chance of him getting knocked out. And I don't mean this to knock him, but he does seem like a little kid sometimes. I hope he fights Maidana. If he stays away from a flush shot, he should take him down.

 

What does punching power have to with chin? Paulie has been able to handle vicious beatings from some heavy hitters like Cotto and Hatton.
