Anyone who is claiming De la Hoya ducked anyone is an idiot...take a look at the guys resume, 'De la Hoya ducked - Margarito shamefully'. No he didn't, you could probably name at least 10 harder challenges De la Hoya has undertaken during his career than a bout with Margarito...including Pacquiao.

At what division, at what time?

Look through this, DLH leaves welter in 2000 after Mosley fight. Check out where Vernon was at...Vernon is a younger era, that's all there is to that. They're never really at the same place at the same time. A lot of people are thinking this cuz of Mosley/Forrest fight, on the same token compare DLH/Mayorga to Forrest/Mayorga. Anyway, as Forrest moves to 154 DLH is lining up his Mayorga and Mayweather fights.

Considering he fought Hopkins(even-though it was a ridiculous catch-weight) , Ike, Mosley and so on I think we can give him a break.

They were a lot for the Cotto and the Hatton fight. Before the the Oscar fight everybody was talking it was a miss match with one exception as long as I remember Bert Sugar. He told that for an old inactive fighter is not a good idea to go down in weight which happened to be true :)

and in fact, his Loss column is indicative that he DIDNT duck anyone, when it was feasible to fight them... he was willing to take risky fights and lose....

just because he didnt fight a fighter or two that a fan feels they should have fight doesnt warrant a fighter to be a ducker. If you really think about it, thats real audacious thinking... but it happens ALL the TIME on ESB

    Oscar never ducked Winky.

Let me repeat. Oscar De la Hoya never ducked Winky Wright.

The fight was offered (just so we're clear offered) to Winky and he turned it down because he wanted more money, Oscar couldn't meet his requested guarantee even though the offer was higher than he ever earned before or after that offer was made.

    As for Pacquiao or Margarito?

Who could have brought him more money at that particular time?

Margarito couldn't headline a PPV without a big name opponent.
    Pacquiao can.

And this backs up my post of at least 10 harder challenges De la Hoya undertook that would be ahead of Margarito when it comes to his legacy. :good

****ing *****. This is hardly BREAKING news as stated in your title. The clue is in the text above...

The fight was on May 1st, well over four months ago which makes this non-news two months old and you very late to the party.

There is really no point talking about this fight until to 2 are actually in the ring! We can all rant and rave on who will win, who is afraid, who the best, etc, and i will even too, but until it happens its a lost cause....
