So if that's the case did Lennox Lewis have a fragile glass chin for getting knocked out by Rahman and McCall?
Very interesting how many Brits....not the smart ones...urged to write in these threads. The David Haye ignominy must hurt....
Yes he did but it was a balance thing more than Wlad actually being hurt. Wladimir immediately jumped up & chased TOS around the ring for the rest of the round.
Very good points.:good I don't think Wlad has an excellent chin but it's def not glass. Plus Sanders did have great power. If anyone doubts that than they need to realize several things. Almost everyone agrees that Vitali has an iron chin. Sanders def hurt Vitali some in that second round which shows how strong and fast Sanders really was.
The early losses, other than the Sanders fight, involved exhaustion as much as anything else. The Sanders fight is really the only one in which he got his clock cleaned. In the first round this weekend, Peter landed a solid left hook to Wlad's head. He shrugged it off. If he takes only a few punches, he should be fine. Remember Lewis was knocked clean out in two different fights, each time with a single punch. He learned how to fight at the right distance to avoid those situations (by the same trainer).
do you actually know what you are talking about? Lewis was on his feet and ready to go when the ref called it off against OM and he was getting up when he was counted out against Rahman. Wlad has been down 12 (twelve) times in his career - he can be stopped by any big puncher.
Pac TKO hatton :yep Its only a technicallity in other words in the 3 losses the man was unconscious or just about to be and or get seriously hurt and it was done to spare him more beating, however I hate when people throw around th termTKO like its not as bad or something!! Its a knockout on the record and a count is not an issue if the ref must stop it as my example above as well proves, also guys have been TKOed and died, rant over
Watch the Sanders fight and as soon as one big left landed, the fight was over. Wlad was done all except some falling around the ring that insued till he was truly finished. His body was not under controll at all. Then look at the more brutal Bombs Vitali took from Lewis without having his leg straighten up once. That showed one of the best chins I've ever seen. Wlad was exhausted during his other KO losses but the Sanders Fight was an example of him being sparked.
being stopped twice is not the same as getting hit to the canvas by mutliple medicore fighters. lewis' chin is good (not great but good). Wlad's is bad, total china.
i like the way lewis's name was brought up in defence of wlad, still its all about CS and the golf swing
:-( For the 100th ****ing time, I have said that post was a bit brash and I have elaborated/discussed teh matter further in additonal post's. The above post is a rush of blood, and not my actual opinion. Lewis did not have a glass jaw, but like Wlad he was prone to being knocked out - as proved in the Rahman and Mccall fights. However, I think his chin is substantially better than Wlad's because Wlad has been knocked down many, many times in his career. The difference betweem the two is that Wlad receovers and gets to his feet faster, something which has saved his behind in many fights. Although its fair to say Lewis has the better chin, as he took bigger shots from bigger punchers than Wlad did and stayed on his feet. Neither have ATG chins, but Wlad's is worse.
He took a ****ing huge shot from Peter during the 1st round, his chin is by no means great but by no means awful, its pretty average.
