    Just after checking it out,
If Casey does beat Kiko. He has to fight the mandatory challenger within 3 months of winning the title

    Taking from the E.B.U Site:

6.2.5. If the European Champion loses his title in a voluntary defence, the new European Champion has to meet his Official Challenger before being allowed any voluntary defence and this within a period of three (3) months from the date when the new Champion won the title.

6.2.6. A European Champion who wins the title in a voluntary defence must make a mandatory defence of his title prior to any voluntary defence.

And on another snippet, Willie Casey is NOT in the current rankings, So what does this mean:

A European Champion may defend his European title voluntarily only against a Boxer in the current ratings and save in so far as a voluntary defence does not prevent the European Champion from fulfilling his obligations in relation to the mandatory defence of his title.

Was talking to Casey today- he said it would be 'ideal' if he could fight Paulie next! he said it would make sense at every level!!

if that happens Paulie shouldnt mind?

If Big Bang win's a fight against Paulie would be a step back for him ( i say that with a big spoon in my hand given it a good auld stir )

On a serious note i am delighted for willie and fair play to all involved for making it happen and kiko must have no fear ans some set of town halls and deserves a huge amount of credit to fight Casey in his back yard

Thats what I was thinking. A worried friend could do something a lot more productive than selling her story and getting her name out there. Not much of a friend

Emmanuel Stewart just said on the ropes radio that they are trying to push Arum to make Duddy V Lee at the Garden. The idea would be to have it as an undercard to Cotto V Chavez Jr. Lets get it on.

Can't see that happening to be honest. Bob Arum said he was gonna pair Duddy up with Foreman for his next fight. Can't see Duddy accepting a fight that he will probably lose as an undercard fight while he is still marketable enough to headline in New York.

I hear you but the problem is that neither fighter is focusing on developing their career here. I also think that Stewart wants to get Andy as much tv exposure as possible now that he is planning a major opponent for March next year. Duddy would tick the boxes on this undercard because

1> It will get Lee great TV exposure.
2> It will make HBO compare Lee to Chavez Jr (because of a common opponent)
3> It will help develop Andy's fan base in New York (and there are lots of Irish Americans there)
4> Any fans that Duddy has will also follow Lee and it will be almost as neutral as it would be if the fight happened here.

    Problems is this
1> Arum already spoke of Duddy V Foreman
2> what is in it for Duddy - a pay cheque but probably another loss

I still don't think it will happen but at laest Stewart is trying to persuade Arum to have Lee on the undercard.
