The Ultimate Fighting Championship, at the post-fight press conference in New Jersey, announced that Pride 185-pound division champion Dan Henderson has finally relented and has agreed to fight UFC champion Anderson Silva. The bout is to take place sometime in March, which would most likely be at the UFCs return to Columbus, Ohio on March 1 at Nationwide Arena. Henderson suffered a disappointing decision loss in his return to the UFC last September, when he lost to current light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson. Despite that loss, he had steadfastly said he wanted to remain in the 205-pound class. Silva has dominated the 185-pound division since debuting in the UFC with a 49-second TKO of Chris Leben in June of 2006. wow! this should be a great fight, about time Henderson came to his senses. The 205 has too much clutter and is still a mess..... besides Silva needs to fight someone that will threaten him.
I think Henderson's wrestling will get him down and take silva off his feet.once that Happens it's anybody's game.
Im going with anderson. They way he has been performing lately. I don't think there is a single peson in his weight class that can beat him. I hendo gets him on the ground what is he going to do? He can't do a damn thing to anderson.

I can't think of any middleweights in the UFC that deserve a shot at Anderson or even have a shot at beating him. Fihlo is in the WEC, and Okami lost to Franklin not too long ago. Henderson is one of the few guys in the world with a shot to knock off Silva. It's hard to bet against Anderson, but Henderson's wrestling could be all the difference here. It will be a very competitive fight at the very least.
Yep. Hendo has a great chin, as strong as the strongest light heavies on the ground.. Is extremely experienced on the ground.. He will be able to eat enough of Silva's shots to give him a chance to take him down, and maul him there. Especially considering he can use the gay ass cage to stuff his head into.
this is a great fight for the fans. i'd still go with anderson. do any of you guys know when dan last fought at around 185?
Anderson Silva is a beast and could win the fight, but I don't think he will. Hendo is just so experienced against guys with similar characteristics. This is a gross overgeneralization, but for the most part Anderson's style of looking to strike standing up, not defending the takedown very hard because he believes in his ground game, and then using an active guard; is sort of the prototypical Brazilian fighter, with obvious exceptions. Dan's fights against Wanderlei, although he is less technical; Vitor, who doesn't use his kicks and knees as much, Bustamonte; both Nogs; and even Yvel somewhat are great preperation for Anderson. I see Dan doing his usual right hand into a bodylock into a hard takedown, and then working from within the guard with great, methodical, success; basically similar to the entire Vitor match and the second round of the second Silva fight.
Nah doubt it:yep One thing is a given..they'll stand this fight up a few times...enough for Anderson to connect... Hendo he can blanket you but he aint submitting anyone soon..especially Silva
