Toney said he plans to continue in MMA.

Of course Randy Coture was a step to much for him.

But if he can learn from the experience and continue to train - and go in a with a lower level fighter - can Toney still become a success in MMA ?

I agree...now could you get him a win..sure....boxing does mean something...and really....he was training with amature fights...and was able to hold his own or beat some average mma....he does have a atheltic past...certain guys he could beat...but could he beat anyone currently in the UFC...i cant see it...local shows...sure....winner of marious pudnisky butterbean would be a good freakshow where he could make some money and have a chance of winning..so would Kimbo..but i fear Kimbo would just do what he did to Mercer..now is Toney now a better grappler then Mercer was..i dont know...I would hope so...of course..who knows how much he really training grappling..and mercer is at least a bigger naturally stronger guy..who did wrestler in high school..so who knows if he now is even any better then Mercer was on the night he fought Kimbo.

Toney is a joke. Unless he gets down to at least 205 pounds and actually trains then no way. He couldn't stuff a single leg from a quite a distance. Him falling over was embarassing. Lets not talk about Toney because this **** went on in boxing for years. I thought MMA might spark a fire in him but he is still just a fat guy with a big mouth looking for a payday and has been for years, don't matter what sport it is.

If he is lucky he will get a striker like Pat Berry, but I doubt he would even look half decent there.

If he has an MMA career, it will be in small shows.

Randy Couture was several steps too much for him.

  12. None he dosen't have the desire to train, too lazy, and isn't a physically very strong guy, he was a damn good boxer way back 15 years ago but those days are long gone, now he's just a fat guy, who's better at trash talking and eating than fighting...

James toney has no future in mma. Hes not prepared to start at the bottom and get some fights in he just wants the payday....
