I agree with Glen Johnson. Dont forget that Johnson hit the big time at light heavy. I know Hops is dissed for fighting smaller fighters but Johnson would be bigger than Kessler. Tito would make things interesting for a while but he'd get beat down later on.

    Well isn't this interesting

the "legendary" Bernard Hopkins has never beaten anyone as good as Mikkel Kessler in the eyes of most knowledgeable ESB posters

and yet we see Calzaghes resume(which to me even without Kessler is still comparable to the old ****s) ripped apart by many Hopkins sack swingers

    ironic that is

    Bernad's LHW record is 1-1.

And that's against a journeyman and an unknown.

    He probably isn't a top 5 LHW.

He is ranked #1, but he isn't the best fighter there.

Taylor was rated the #1 MW but he wasn't the best fighter there.

Guesswork on the first one since actual in-ring proof says Taylor was fighting his best fight in a while and still lost. As for Hopkins.....let him beat one of the LHW champions, then we can talk.

I seriously do not know if Kessler could beat Bhop. Kessler looked mighty confused against Calzaghe and if he thought Cal is confusing welcome to the strange world of Bhop. He has the tools but I dont think he'll be able to solve that puzzle either. I think Winky should stay down in weight and Taylor has a punchers chance against either 1 in Cal and Kessler.

I should conclude this thread in beauty: Kessler is better than any of Hopkins' opposition so Calzaghe is comparatively better than Hopkins and he doesn't really have to fight him, I got it. Hail to the best LHW in the world, Joe Calzaghe, even if yet to fight a single fight at 175 pounds or any given fight in the States.

Tarver hadn't been "the man" at LHW for quite some time. He was the man who beat the man when he was past it. Since then, better younger fighters have emerged.

Like I said, when Hopkins beats a LHW get back to me.

This is why Calzaghe's legacy depends on what guys like Lacy, Kessler, and (alarmingly) Bika can achieve in the rest of their careers. Their resume's are more important than Calzaghe's in that respect.

Sorry, two past it fighters can't fight for "the man" status. He is the Ring Champion. That's all.

So you only think what Ring tells you to? Ok then.....

It's a good tool. It's not the be all end all.

Yoguys forget that Bhop also took on a young hungry lion in Jt and most not all but most people would agree a draw for 1 and Bhop took the other. So if he wasnt cheated where do we stand?

And no im not a Bhop fan, I just call the fights the way they are even though I was rooting for JT.

Stop trying to play word games with me. You're wasting your time. If you want to do so, then I would merely mention that "the man" is the Linear champion since that predates the "Ring" champion, which would mean that Erdai is "the man".

Now if you want to use your own two eyes and decide for yourself, we can talk.
