http://www.boxingnews24.com/2010/09/maccarinelli-“maybe-i’ll-have-another-crack”/ Just read this on BN24, don't really know what to say, i'm quite lost for words. How can this guy still comtemplate continuing, it is simply ridiculous. If Enzo is even allowed to carry on, then I lose all faith on boxing. It is not for definite, but he is considering a return all the same. I am shocked and quite appaled. Although I like Enzo and understnad it is difficult for his career to end on this note, I simply cannot condone a return to the ring for him. HE is a coma waiting to happen.e Thoughts?
I know, he must be a ****ing ****** or something. Actually, most of BN24's writers are ******s so it's hardly a surprise
Regardless of the subject matter that is a shite article, my 12 year old daughter could write a better piece.
That's actually pretty good for a BN24 article Really shows you the quality of the websites writers :-(
He really should have retired after those two nasty losses last year. All I was hoping for on Saturday night was that he would get through the fight with his health intact. The way he got knocked out was quite worrying, and most definitely career ending (considering his form last year). Enzo might be brave, but he isn't stupid and I'm sure he'll make the right decision.
the guy was brutally kayoed..****in ref and his corner should have stepped in and avoided the coup de gras...however, wasnt he winning until the ko??....sure i read that somewhere...bad, bad ko...lets see how it affects him..the guy is a fighter, its all he knows...
give him a few more weeks, let him review the tapes, he make the right call..... I dont see Warren promoting him any longer
He should retire no question - if health and being sensible decsion is made. However I am not greatly surprised by this. Fighters are the last to admit they are "done" Enzo is a warrior - he got knocked out like that - and still got the heart to fight. He loves a scrap does Maccarinelli - you got to give him that - he is a hard nut from Swansea. He loves boxing - trained all his life - and its what he knows. I'm not surprised he wants to end his career on a better note than that. But of course there is health risks with carrying on. I dont think Enzo is shot - but he is a bit ring worn. I dont think his punch resistance has gone - he has always had a bit of a fragile chin. But what I do know is Enzo is a attack minded fighter - he cant help himself from letting them big wild bombs go - and thats where he can always get countered with a sucker shot like he did on Saturday. He is never goona change the way he fights. he tried that with Lebedev and it didnt work. Its kill or be killed with Enzo.
when did they seperate bn 24 from esb ??? Obviously the forum etc is still the same but the home page is now seperate
Has anyone got a link to a video of that final round? I want to show my old man - prove to him that Enzo needs to retire. I don't think his whiskers are any different to what they used to be. The difference is, for me, that he has come to believe that he has to hit or be hit. As such, he's lost any of his old style and is crude and wide open. He practically begs to be hit. After he settled down on Saturday, and seemed to take a little confidence that he didn't have to blow Frenkel out, he looked a far better fighter. But then he went back into default mode. Whatever the reasons, he has had a handfull of brutal KO's now and, to risk anything more, could have consequences I really don't want to think about. Such a lovely bloke. Anyone who cares about him, and there are a lot in and around the game, need to take it on themselves to support him and dissuade him from any notion of carrying on.
I don't like the way he looked after the second knock down. For that reason he needs to retire. I think he is good financially.
