would two ton tony galento be a belt holder today ??

    he had louis shaken and later on his arse....do you think the likes of rahman, ruiz, even haye would have handled him as well as louis ?

    In addition to his hook, Galento had a servicable double jab when he chose to use it, and getting through the first 100 fights without getting floored in an era of six ounce gloves suggests some ability to defend himself as well as toughness. When Louis did land him, he got up to return the favor. He looked like a caricature, but had very quick reflexes, accentuated by short arms. He won more than a dozen times over the ten round distance, and did flatten opponents with his right when his hook was effectively defended against. He was not a one armed slugger.

    galento was one tough mofo with nice power.he would have a chance against everyone except the k bros

    Today I would guess not, because the belts are polarising towards the best fighters in the division.

    A few years ago when there were some verry weak beltholders it might have been a different matter.
