Indeed, Soto is a good fighter and I think he's going to rebound after this loss. He can learn a lot watching the Guzman tape and seeing how he could’ve done better had he employed the feint here and there to throw Guzman off his rhythm and maybe got a lucky shot in.

He is a boxer puncher who has the style to beat Valero

My reasoning for picking Soto? He is more polished - much more polished for that matter. He's got proven toughness, fought excellent competition, can catch Valero in the middle of his wild flurries, and can catch him coming in. He would work on Valero's body too. Perhaps he would stop him late.

Soto of course he has the antidote for Valero's wild throwing hooks which are his straight punches.

Soto by very easy early-mid KO. Valero is one of the biggest jokes in the lower divisions. He has almost no technical skill, a weak chin, and is open to everything that Soto throws. Soto does well against pressure fighters, has decent power, and is on a whole different level skillwise. Valero is just a tough guy who gained fame knocking out nobodies a bunch of times in the first round. He became champion after Freitas vacated his belt and the title went through a bunch of shitty fighters. He's probably going to be keeping the belt hostage now for as long as he possibly can.

i somehow feel valero will be down on the cards through the fight but will catch soto with a flush left to end it all. valero by ko.

    Now that's fight . . . a real fight. :yep

Edwin Valero was hurt and downed by Vicente Mosquera in their title fight. And since he cannot run like Guzman :D . . . I'll pick Soto by K.O. :yep

Both are very much capable of knocking each other out . . . but Soto has more technical skills than the rude Valero.

though i agree that soto is technically superior, i also think that he has lapses in his defense. bobby pac raocked him pretty bad in their fight and i believe bobby's power is nowhere close to what valero has.

put it this way, if valero hits soto flush at one point then he has a real chance of beating soto as i think soto's chin will not hold up. however, if soto prepares well in evading valero wild looping punches, he'll wine a wide ud or even a late tko.
