I wanted to be a little less predictable, and I've been watching a lot of Basilio recently. Fulmer was about as tough as they come and stopped Basilio twice and yet he was cold clocked with one punch against Robinson. Spectacular.

Oh and just in spite of Bill The ****

Fight 1: Erik Morales vs Marco Antonio Barrera I
Fight II: Manny Pacquiao vs Erik Morales III

I'd have included Raheem but nobody has ever heard of him.

I really rate Basilio. Think he was an excellent fighter.

Definitely a case of improving dramatically in a short space of time. I have his two fights with Chuck Davey, who was less than stellar, but he was out-boxed at least once in one of those fights. I didn't come away to impressed, but then I'd see how he got on against the likes of Robinson and Graham. I tend to think if he had fought Davey again, 4 years on, he'd had put a hurting on him similarly to how Gavilan did. What a fairy.

Oh, I know what you mean. Like show a fighter's great performance against one opponent, but then in the second fight show him getting beat or dominated by a different fighter. Like to explain who in the first fight he did spectacular, but in a different fight show his weaknesses and explain how he was dissected which led to his downfall. Not a bad idea, but I think you might want to do that later after your squire has already got the basics down. Just show him some Finito Lopez, Donald Curry, or James Toney for the text book stuff. Depending on the weight and frame of the novice, if he's tall and rangy, some Tommy Hearns, Carlos Monson, or Bob Foster will do. Novice is short and stocky, some Mike Tyson, Roberto Duran, and Floyd would be great. I wouldn't limit to just those, but I think there is a standard and it is important if you want to compete you have to surpass that standard. My 2 pesos.

The novice is a hypothetical, not a real person. This is not a real situation, it's just an idea for a thread. Thanks for the input anyway.

Sure you could do Morales-Pac I. Then do Barrera-Morales I. Since I'm fairly sure he didn't say the second fight had to come after the first one.
