Will never happen. He's turned down many big fights such as this. Ortiz would kill him. It would be a gang ****.

I reckon he would. The money will be significantly better than any other fight he can get. Exposure to the casual fan. If he loses, well it's a big paycheck and no disgrace given that Ortiz is world class. If he wins - and Ortiz has already been proved beatable and possibly lacking in heart - then a world title shot and huge money fight with Khan will be on the table. He'd be mad not to take this fight if it was offered to him.

Even if this fight comes off, Mick will probably manage to get it in Gambia.

Can't see this happening tbh. If it did, although Ortiz is the favourite. I think it'll be really competitive. Ortiz still has those 'heart' issues, say what you want about Murray but he's got real determination and would put Ortiz in uncomfortable situations.

They had Ortiz fighting Vivian Harris FFS. They're not really confident in him right now and won't risk any fight they're not absolutely sure he wins.

I have to say if this comes off and Kirkland on the card, I am thinking a trip to Vegas is just what Santa ordered...(Pending better half approval of course)

I'll give Murrays people credit for taking this fight. Ortiz will crush him.

Ortiz would be the big favourite and i'm not a fan of Murray, but Victor is still mentally unstable IMO. Trust me GBP have realised this guy although he has physical gifts is gonna be a late developer. If you look at the Harris fight he still got anxious and walked into a couple of shots. Murray doesn't have the power, the defence nor the athleticism, but he has certain intangibles that means it's enough of a risk for Golden girl not to make a fight like this, which doesn't really do much for Ortiz in the grander scheme of things.

If Murray won, it wouldn't be down to him 'outclassing' Ortiz.

were all saying he wont but hes gotta bite the bullet some time , i mean its not even like their milking his local fanbase with poor matchups , there doing nothing with him and havent been since about his 9-10th fight he hasent fought that much better competition in apart from 3 brit title fights

they may just give it a go if he loses theyve cashed in on an investment that they managed poorly if he wins theyve got some money ahead of them

cant keep fighting shite opposition and not that regulary

Wouldn't be an awful fight for John Murray.

Although on paper he appears completely outclassed...as far as intangibles which are extremely important in boxing he very probably has a real edge.

At least it would put Murray on the map and he would fight for every minute of every round he has massive determination but i dont particularly rate Murray, though i would still like to see him step up and this would be a great fight to watch.
