Hagler and SRL. Arguello was tough with his hooks and uppercuts to the body. The inside was no sanctuary with him as an opponent. Alexis has been compared to Louis, but Arguello was much better inside and off the ropes than Joe, while Louis was the better combination puncher, with faster hands.

Ike Williams, Archie Moore 'n Carlos Ortiz are the first that pop to mind. Of the new breed, think Andre Ward's far-n-away the most accomplished.

Donald Curry, although I guess it depends on what is meant by "great fighter". He had the skills, certainly, in my opinion. One of the most well-rounded textbook technicians of the modern era.

Barrera comes to mind too. I truly feel like he was one of those truly 50/50 guys. Kind of a jack of all trade when it came to range.
