I know when DeGale was offered £50k previously by Booth to fight on the undercard of Haye vs I think Valuev but maybe Ruiz they said that the £50k would be a career high for DeGale.

Sports Network press releases should not be listened to as Hayemaker Promotions press releases shouldn't. They are just promoting their fighters! Wait until both make talk so we can get the bigger picture..... Let's just hope Hayemaker don't wait a couple of months this time!!

I understand both of these guys will paint their own picture but it looks like the Booth offer is they want to DeGale to fight on their promotion, in his toughest and biggest fight for less money than he normally gets.:think

If this is the true, its a pile of shite and a complete joke. And they look forward to Frank accepting it?

Get real guys. Neither Booth, with his offer to put the fight on a Hayemaker card, nor Warren with his "£50,000, you have 48 hours and we're done" offer wants this fight to happen now.

I can't believe people are talking as if theres been 2 reasonable, genuine offers here or that it was a fight that was EVER going to happen on December 11th.

I agree with you, just trying to build up a good rivallary, hopefully will be the Benn and Eubanks of this era. Two rival promoters that seemingly hate each other, two fighters who seemingly hate each other.

I am probably hoping for too much but have been following this since the amatuers and can't wait.

I thought after your nasty experience with David Haye that you'd finally realized that people in boxing sometimes lie or bend the truth?

    Frank Sums it up perfectly

"DeGale is a much bigger name and higher profile boxer than George Groves and if both walked down the street, it would be DeGale whom the public would recognise - a fact that Booth himself has acknowledged."

"The fact is, Groves needs DeGale much more than DeGale needs Groves and if he wants to steal James' mantle then he has the opportunity to do it on my show on December 11."

"If he's serious, he'll take it as the offer I made as it is his biggest payday by far."

"Booth said that he has never publicly called for the fight to happen, but he has forgotten that he called out DeGale in February to meet Groves on the David Haye-John Ruiz undercard, saying: "This is the fight George wants to take now, as he's desperate to prove a point against DeGale."

"If Groves does not want the fight then he should stop using DeGale's name to publicise himself in the same way that Dave Haye did by calling out the Klitschko brothers."

Nutjob your wrong Groves is one of my favourite fighters Haye is to. Booth is the problem.

Before I heard about Groves turning down the good offer i was all for Groves smashing DeGale to pieces.

It's too soon for these to meet and I agree that all this talk is just hype and promotion. If Paul Smith is moving on to world level then I think it's a sure thing that Degale will contest the British title. A couple more contests and I think these two will be mandatory for each other, then the timing, the money and the profile might be much more appealing.

p.s. Robpalmer135 glad your avatar is gone, that was OTT and turning me off reading your posts.

It's a shame that the politics are affecting how you feel about the individual fighters. Can I ask why it doesn't bother you about Mayweather though?

Groves is a ***** ass ho bag. Bleats about being avoided, then shits it when someone brings it. I ain't a massive fan of either, but hope degale smashes thegranny out of George. It's hayemaker all over, all talk no substance.

My high opinion of Mayweather has gone down recentlly but theres a few things that mean he gets an easiar ride than Haye and Groves and other fighters using the money excuse.

    1. He has paid his dues in the sport. Been at World Level for 12 years. When you have done that you can be allowed to pick and chose your opponents.

    2. I genuinley believe his heart is not in boxing anymore. He is semi retired.

    3. He has made it clear for years he is in it for the money and nothing else.

    4. Mayweather hasn't called anyone out for a long time.

    5. Theres clearly allot of problems going on in his personal life including the problems with his trainer and uncle.

    6. Mayweather has made it clear what his terms were for the fight from day 1. He thinks he deserves more than 50% and full random drug testing up to the fight.
Pacquiaos camp have never made that offer. Like I said Mayweather is semi retired, if you want to fight him you need to come to him, not the other way.

    7. I think in general Mayweather gets an unfair time from Boxing fans that fail to recognize what he has achieved in the sport. They let personal feelings sway there judgment.

At the end of the day Haye and Groves have done allot of talking about Klitscko and DeGale in the last 2 years. They have been given good opportunities to back it up and they havent followed through.

Being at the top of the sport, for me, means you have more of an obligation to fight the best. But I see where you’re coming from, certainly in terms of proving himself. He’s got an average resume, but he’s mixed with some excellent fighters. There’s only one guy capable of beating him right now – who he won’t fight, sadly.
