tillis and biggs were both ali imitators and tyson looked merely OK against one and excellent against the other. you gotta consider both performances if you're gonna talk about blueprints, not to mention tyson dominated fighters better than tillis
I had tillis winning the 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th rounds. Tillis just landed more scoring shots and controlled those rounds IMO. When scoring fights you must take a mental note of the number of scoring shots that land with sufficient force. Tyson did stagger tillis more often but tillis was never entirely dominated, always scoring effectively before and after each sticky moment. This is not necessarily a robbery, its just the way I see it, and why 3 judges is better than one. I would be happy to be in the minority here. Its a common mistake to give a whole round to the guy who lands the hardest punch rather than the fighter whose outboxing the other. Even the round of the knockdown would not be a 10-8 in my judgement since tillis was winning that round so it was tysons 10-9. Even though Tyson was the better fighter it took young Tyson too long to adjust to being hit back and paused too long at times. Im certain young Mike would have won an immediate rematch by KO. It was just the introduction to the class level adjustment that IMO cost him the fight.
Tillis beat Tyson? Thats the first ive ever heard of it Man this Mike Tyson dude was full of so many myths, i wonder if he even actually existed?
BEST post hear so far!! thumbsup Your boxing-brainz are SPECIAL. Tillis deffo won tillis teh 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 9th And 10th roundz i Agree And teh roundz 3 , 4, 5, 8 were v.close to And could Easy be scored even.
Can't we get rid of this guy already? I thought this should have been enough to finish off his posting career in the Classic:
So you essentially scored it the same way you would score a poorly scored amateur bout... Bravo, you know nothing about professional boxing scoring... Oh wait, I just noted you are from the UK. That explains it. You guys have always scored bouts differently than we do in the USA, giving more points for defense and pitty pat punches and less points for who is actually landing the better blows and doing more damage. Its why you guys turn out so many patty cake fighters.
Sir Bert Cooper would have destroyed Tyson!!!! Evander Holyfield "Bert Cooper hit the hardest of anybody I fought. Either hand. He could drop a bomb on your head. Every round was tough. I only hit him twice and both times I floored him. I don't know how he got up. I hit him so hard I thought I killed him, but he just got up. Cooper was strong. Lewis was the best. Lewis hit like a mule and he knew how to draw you in. Bowe was strong. He had a very strong body. That was his thing. That's how he beat me the first time. He was as good as any. Mike Tyson was all arms. He never tried to punch with me. He knew better. All arms and elbows. Good fighter. Tyson could hurt you, but Bert Cooper could kill you! After he killed fighters he held back. He became a clown. But his sparring partners told me he could kill you by accident. He could hit that hard. " :deal
Now i seen that quote from Holyfield - i gonna put Cooper at no.15 on H2H heavys list And put Tyson down to no.16. :thumbsup
