Frankie Gavin would be my choice. He appears to have all the tools necessary to comfortably reach the world stage.

But out of that list its either Cleverly or Degale. Cleverly, right now, would be competitive with the best in the division. Degale has a lot of potential. After the Adamu fight I would have said that Groves beats him, but after seeing his most recent performance and comparing it with Degale's, I'd have to side with Degale.

I'd like to see Degale fighting backwards. Haven't really seen him fight backwards with combat effectiveness without being in purely defensive mode. I wonna see if he can box going backwards because he's gonna have to do that a lot as the competition improves. He pivots beautifully though.

Still not convinced by Degale, can't quite put my finger on what it is.

Cleverly looks the business so far and seems to have a few different dimensions to his game, which will stand him in good stead as he continues to step it up. I mean, I reckon you could stick him in with the biggest names in the division and he'd hold his own, and if not right now then at least in the foreseeable future.

Gavin's the one for me though. Seems to have that air of class about him which you don't typically tend to see in British fighters. I reckon he'll start looking better as his career progresses and he starts getting matched with guys who want to take the fight to him. Then we'll see what he's really about.

Currently, out of that list i'd say DeGale.

I voted for DeGale as i think his career will last longer than Nath Clev's, Cleve will realise his potential @ L/Heavy and win a genuine world title and possibly a unification fight v another top four ABC holder but he is too canny to stick around too long in the sport .my outside bet would be Kell Brook .

Anyone who put Stephen Smith is a moron in my opinion. You don't go life and death with John Simpson if you're gonna be a future world champion. He's 25 years old so it's not as if he's particularly raw or has the potential to improve a great deal.

I'd go with Bellew, DeGale and Cleverly from that list, as well as Frankie Gavin.

That is exactly it, DeGale try's to be something he is not and it will cost him unless he corrects this.

He found success in the Olympics as a pretty much 'pure' outboxer with silky skills, now he has 'reinvented' himself as a greasy slick counter-puncher in the pocket, but it just does not suit him. Firstly he looks awkward and cannot react naturally to situations in front of him and secondly he gives up alot of his natural aspects such as his timing and sense of distance which were superb in the Olympics. Why fix what aint broke? If DeGale goes back to his basics we have a future World Champion, if he sticks to trying to recreate Pernell Whittaker, we will have another Audley.

My choice would be between Frankie Gavin and Tony Bellew.

Gavin has it all as a technician. Essentially he is a pressure fighter but he has an outstanding defence and is a quick wee whippet. His lack of pop is evident but he can make up for this with his skills and body punching. He also as a 'fun' style in the way he is always doing something and at a high skill level. His own fraility is his tendency to cut, so it keeps the drama in his fights high. He can become a British great.

Bellew is a guy I really like stylistically. He can box a bit, but most importantly he can punch a bit, just a bit mind, and he knows he can. He is the typical boxer-puncher with his boxing skills used to set up hard punches to take his man out ASAP. No extra for overtime mentality. This can lead to excitement and a certain destructive aura around him that will enchant fans, as well as his charismatic and energetic/passionate personality. But he does have those all important skills to go along with the punch, his jab is phenomenal and with his reach he can really be a devastating out-boxer/puncher. A future Scouse legend.

Degale, Cleverly and Frankie Gavin all look like the genuine artical but I also like the look of Scott Quigg. He looks good at the weight and has time on his side and could graduate up through a weight division or two as he ages.
