I disagree. He apppears to be a very powerful puncher. His speed, body movement and technical skills are what really make him stand out. If he can lose 20 lbs or so, he'd be a real threat. Of course, he hasn't faced anyone in the top 10 yet, so this is just an extrapolation based upon how he looked against Barret and other lesser fighters. Solis needs fights with some name opponents to put pressure on the networks to push his cause. Look, King never had any trouble getting a spent Golota 3 back to back to back title shots (Byrd-Ruiz-Brewster), mainly cause Golota was easy to market.
HBO would love Solis if he wasn't so obese. Who knows how good he if he shed the weight. Hell, he won gold at 201 and exited the amateurs (as a grown man in his mid-20s) around 235 lbs.
you guys are nuts. It's actually a good move for Solis. He'll have numerous title shots, as many as he needs or wants, over the next decade.
Looks like King had his eyes on Solis for awhile now. This content is protected From one of Solis' early fights.
Solis refused to fight Vitali. I guess he will refuse to fight Vlad also. However, King will want him to fight Haye, easy knockout. King will have the WBA to bypass Chagaev, Haye's mandatory.
