What **** he didn't even win a world title. ****ing WBU bs, I know fighters work real hard but I hate it when fighters claim to be world champions and really believe it when they clearly aren't.
It makes for the perfect Hollywood ending though doesn't it, fighter drags himself up from the streets to a world title, most people watching wouldn't know the WBU from the WBC
I know I'm just being picky. But if they are going to do a film like this they could at least just make it up or find a character that actually won the world title. I mean Boxing is full of underdog stories and fighters with real hard tough stories.
Exactly he made some serious $ from those fights and it was that fight that changed his life not his fight with Shay Neary for the ****in WBU, I could get a shot at the WBU it doesn't actually take any pedigree.
What ya gonna do eh? they always seem to **** us Boxing fans with movies of boxers, innaccuracies and suchlike, worse thing is non fans will believe the movie over fact.
Perhaps because it ruins the attempt on the filmmaker's part to portray Ward as the best in the world. I'll be honest, this film looks ****. On the first 15 seconds alone, Bale's part looks cringeworthy as hell. As Royalt said above, there are loads of good stories in the sport; **** knows why they chose this one. That's not a dig at Ward's spirit and tenacity in the ring, but more of a dig at whoever funded this film over much better stories that have graced the sport.
Makes sense fight of the year and I'm sure the guy is a Boxing fan, but I'm guessing it wasn't Hollywood enough :verysad
unsure about the hollywood enought bit, as Mark walberg was already in it from the get go.. But someone else dropped out of the film and Darren Arons decided to bounce out. He then went on to do the black swan movie..looks stunning!
