I've met Zappa a few times and hes always been very polite and gave his time to anyone who wanted to chat.
Because you like him & I don't like him, that makes me a tool huh Raff? Ethnicity reasons huh? Come on sunshine, is that the best you can do? He may well be the nicest bloke in the world in real life, but my opinion has been formed by the way I've seen him behave in his fights that I've seen on tv... If that makes me a tool or a racist in your expert opinion, then so be it... I really couldn't give a flying fark. Forums are about opinions, you have yours, I have mine.
I tend to agree with PJ here. It will always be a matter of conjecture about how a fighter is moved along. Whenever we discuss Matching, sometimes I think there is just too much inching & not enough stepping It's one thing to build confidence & experience, but the cost of not handling defeat can be a mental cancer if connections over assess his ability & kid themselves about his capacity to absorb punishment & fight over it. I think Tommy is on track with Lenny. There's not much here for him & his progress is in the footprints of Mick Katsidas. One thing I like to see before our blokes take on the mexicans is to go via the UK & the Comm title. Misterbloke. You have to remember that Lenny doesn't check the form or the ratings of who they put in front of him, so the jubilation of victory is not so much as a "look at me I'm a champion" as a feeling of satisfying his connections & keeping on schedule. Sure there's an air of ignorant supremacy but that's a minor fault, & often shared. JMO Cheers
Listed now as zappa v ji-hoon kim. Ibf eliminator. Looks a bit of a war on paper...kim has fought some handy guys and looks a strong come forward customer. Not sure how he gets to fight an eliminator straight after losing against vasquez for the vacant ibf belt. But this one looks all action. These are the fights lenny needs to be taking...hope he can come through, it doesnt look an easy out for him.
Disliking someone Is one thing, calling him a scumbag because of what you've seen on tv is another, by the way, can you give any specific examples of what he's done for you to form your expert opinion??
I dont know about taking on Kim...He is a brutal fighter, looks like he studied his Sung-Kil Moon tapes as a kid. That will be some fight...Career shortening for both boys. Ganoy, Bolling and Medley on the card should keep the average punter interested for the duration.
Ganoy has already ko'd mosquero, who is past his best. Not sure why that is being revisited but apparently its not guaranteed yet. Hope not.
Id expect they want to get someone in for a highlight reel Ko for Ranee...Mosquito fits the bill it seems, didnt know they already fought.
Tough fight for Zappa against the rugged brawler Ji-Hoon Kim. Kim always comes in 100% condition wise, however he can be outboxed easy, especially when watching his last bout against Miguel Vazquez. If Zappa is off his game no doubt Kim will make him pay. Kim is a great measuring stick at Lightweight similar to probably what Lovemore N'dou has been at Junior Welter/Welterweight. Anyone inside the top 15 should beat him everyone else its touch & go. To me personally its a pretty even fight, tho i will lean to Zappa being the hometown fighter. A much more winable fight then the rumoured Urbano Antillon matchup.
Im surprised Soto is taking on Antillon in December...not completely sold that Soto's team have taken it...they will try & get out of it:yep
