Adamek won wide UD with Grant but it was tough as hell - he took huge punches... and what do you mean by "ain't that good at heavy"? Good like what? Just check latest poll 'Adamek/Wlad' it says a lot - there is no hard delusion towards Adamek, but everyone can appreciate what he does - a LHW former taking his path in HW. For guys like you he should've been already dead.

i think more important than the fight itself are the preparations to this fight. He still grows to HW and learns from a new trainer.

I didn't expect too tough of an opponent for Adamek in December because he's sitting on a shot at a Klitschko. With no tv coverage and a Klitschko fight probably coming within 6-9 months then a guy like Maddalone is about what you'd expect. Adamek is a comfortable favorite here and I think it still ends up being an entertaining fight but I would have preferred someone better.

If Adamek goes on to fight a Klitshcko in his next fight or so then his current drop in competition is no big deal. But if he continues to take on lesser fighters and doesn't face a Klitschko then he would deserve criticism. I think he faces one of the brothers soon so this fight is fine.

Its unfortunate that Adamek just doesnt have the size to be a heavyweight. His mindset in Golota's body would be unstoppable. Of course Im a huge fan but he just doesnt have the power he had at cruiserweight, but Heavyweight is where the big money is at, Cruiserweight there wasnt that much for him so maybe he can probably get a heavyweight title by defeating Haye.

This fight has to end in a KO because if Adamek can't KO this guy who I think is the same weight as him then he doesnt even have a chance.

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEE step backwards for Adamek, who IMHO loses a rematch against Grant.

But anyway, whether he mops the floor with the tomato can Maddolone or not, he's KOd EARLY by either Klitschko, and he had better thank Povetkin for running from Wlad, because if Peter were to take that fight with him, we'd all be mourning the loss of a genuinely nice guy.

I like TA, truly. But watching the Grant fight just showed me soooooooo clearly that he is NOT a contenter at HW.

Im not a hater, but Grant hurt him with some awkward shots. If TA were to square off with Wlad, Vitali, Peter, or another big puncher, his HW career would be over.

The guy is staying busy, against a low level boxer who DOES have a punch. Both guys need paychecks, Adamek stays busy, Maddalone is a genuine HW, and it's a fan friendly fight. All of Maddalone's fights are fun to watch.....same goes for Adamek.

Hindsight is 20/20....as long as Adamek doesn cut badly or not look very good...a fight with a Klit should come early 2010.

Adamek beats Peter to wide UD.

When Adamek moved up to CW, people were saying that he has no chances, as small Paul Briggs hit him a lot of times. The same was after Estrada fight, some people were saying that he would get KOed by Arreola. Nothing like this happened.

He was testing the water with Grant. It was his first experience and you cannot say that against either Klitschko he would box the same. Every fight is different and you train exactly for that opponent.

how do you go from fighting golota, estrada and arreola to fighting grant and maddalone?

the guy is taking a step backwards, much like povetkin.

Top 5? He is/was behind Chagaev, Chambers, Povetkin and Valuev for a start. That doesn't even make him top 7.

Good fight for Adamek, stay busy until Vitaly is retired. Then he just needs to beat the hell out of fat but dangerous Solis, his best shot at a belt. :good

That being said, Mormeck would have been a better fight.

Ring magazine had him at #5 at the time.

    That >>> your opinion.

No, probably not because Tua would have great difficulty landing flush.
