Without a doubt it'll be by knockout, no way Maidana takes a decision because Khan will stack up too many rounds if it goes the distance.

But.. lets say Khan loses by KO in the mid rounds, with him taking a big blow and being out, after stacking up alot of dominant rounds and being ahead on all cards whilst looking Brilliant, would it be a case of ''He should retire, he lost to a lesser fighter'' or ''Hes clearly got the talent, but lacks a chin, the second he got hit flush he was out of there, he can come back but will have to be matched with less bangers''

Personally i can see this kind of scenario, Khan either dominating and then getting caught flush and being out for the count while ahead. But if this were to happen where would it leave him? Obviously if it were a 'Prescott' loss again most would agree on retirement.. thoughts?

Like i said, i believe if he were to dominate and then just be let down mid-rounds by his chin, he can come again with the valid reason of ''World level talent, non-world level chin'' But if its another Prescott blowout its gonna be hard to say he can... remember everyone knows this guy in boxing right now more or less, so his image would be pretty much ruined if he were to get Prescott'd again, GBP would probably drop him from the limelight too.

Persoanlly i would advise him to take a break and on hi return keep him fighting the fighters he has been fighting through his career up until the prescott fight.

But in all seriousness it wouldnt be a good move if this happened.

The question is where does he go?, make a few fights against soe lightweights and build up his confidence and then keep only place him with fighters who have a 50% ko ratio until the next big money fight show itself.

Tbh if he loses to one of the worlds most one dimensional fighters out there he may as well pack it in. He won't do that obviously...fact is he's not in the sport because he needs to earn a living so he won't go back down to domestic level.

It's really do or die for him at world level because he jumped over domestic level and i think his pride wouldn't allow him to drop to that level so if he did happen to lose to Maidana i'd say he have a bounce back fight against a very light puncher and then he'd have to fight a real top fighter either at LW or WW. He can't hang around fighting soft touches in non title bouts because people will lose interest.

He's young enough to bounce back but really you could be 39,17,24 it don't make a blind bit of difference if your chins like glass then your not going far if it's been exposed twice already.

If Khan is ahead on the scorecards and gets knocked out (which is the way I see it), then he simply needs to go back and work vigorously on one thing – defence! It would be a crime if he was to just stop boxing, as there’s too much talent and skill in him to throw away. He’s only got one flaw to his game, his chin. So it’s simple, build a fortress around that dog awful liability.

And as for Maidana, his best chance is to end the fight early, which shouldn't be too difficult considering Khan's mediocre defence. But if somehow the fight goes on to rounds 7/8 without him successfully landing his bombs, he'll get increasingly tired and sloppy, and Khan will make him pay.

He won't retire. He'll just stay away from big punchers like Maidana, Prescott, Limond etc.

Thats what i mean. If he dominated the fight and simply ended up getting caught and KO'd, it would be clear that its that handicap of a chin he has and not that he isnt of world level standard. This fight, i dont care what has been said about Maidana but the last time Khan fought a pressure fighter he nearly had his rib cracked and got dropped by a so-so left hook against Micheal Gomez. This is a true test of styles since that time for Khan but he SHOULD be able to make it look easy in there, the chin being the only (and probably the biggest determining factor) worry in this fight.

Part of me really feels Khan's getting back his old arrogance and i have a feeling his nervous tension he gets before bouts will transfer into opening round. I can see him dropping Maidana early, With a just a rapid 1'2 (Maidana walking in square and off balance). I'm not saying he will attack Maidana but Maidana is so exposed to speed it's a joke. If Maidana gets up and stays in the fight to the midway point...who knows.....Khan's machismo may be his downfall...recently he's fought guys that haven't pressed the issue.

I expect a wide Khan UD.

No shame in getting sparked by a proven (for the most part) puncher. Khan will return, if that happens. May just turn out to be one of those entertaining fighters who can dish it out and equally be dropped very easily. Makes for all the more entertaining fights.

That's the only problem Khan has ever had, aggressive fighters who can bang. Maidana comes in that exact mould. Which is why if Khan deals with him impressively, he'd have sent a massive statement, and confidence wise, he'll have done himself a world of good.
