I picked Evander Holyfield by decision on the pole, and was pleasantly surprised that the numbers here are pretty much dead even. This is a pick 'em fight for me, and wouldn't be too shocked to see it go either way. Holyfield's tougness, stamina, persistance and accurate left hooks would make him a formidable foe, while Wlad's added size, strength, and outside fighting game would make it hard for Holy to get in close to do his damage. Anything can happen, but as a man who grew up in the 80's and 90's, I'll go with one of my heroes.
Lewis was a shadow of himself when he fought Vitali - Holyfield went 24 rounds with a much better Lewis and didnt have his face punched off.
Evander stops both. Against Vitali he'd maybe lose the odd early round but would eventually force a firefight, and would force a mercy stoppage around the 8th. I think Wlad has the tools to give Evander serious problems as Lewis did, but at some stage he will force his will and land, forcing a stoppage around the 6th whilst slightly behind.
Evander in his prime would knock out Wlad and would probably decision Vitali. I think Bowe and Foreman were as good as either of them and we see what prime Holyfield did to them.
He did lose to Bowe but Bowe isn't the same kind of fighter. Bowe has more toughness than Wlad, I admit Vitali is extremely tough and if anyone could have beaten Holyfield in his prime it would be Vitali, but I don't think Vitali would be able to deal with the activity level and the counter punching to outpoint prime Holyfield, and I don't think Vitali has the power to knock him out. So it would go the distance and considering this Holyfield has a good chance of outboxing him.
Who has ever KO'd holyfield? Do you know how difficult that is? He has the best chin in the heavyweight division.
And the only ATG he fought was LL, who was old, fat and out of shape for this fight (and still managed to win). So, the fact that he hardly lost a round against opponents like Sosnowski, Williams or Peter does not mean it would be the same against The Real Deal. I have no idea who would've won (I'm not sure how Evander would do with Vitali's style and size either), but Vitali would be forced to do something more than he did against B and C-level opposition he used to dominate lately.
Prime For Prime...Holyfield is too small and weak to be competetive against a Klitschko. Either Klitschko destroys Holyfield.
Fanboy opinions don't count. Half of you have the Klits as avatars, and all of you probably think that the Klits beat anyone in history easy, because they are too big and skilled.:?
lmao lennox lewis couldn't destroy him and a prime bowe had to put together one of the greatest heavyweight performances of all time to beat a prime holyfield yet k2 destroys him. the fuk is wrong with you dumbass
Lmao @ some people here think even a prime Holyfield would destroyed either Klit brothers lol. Does people forgot a prime Holyfield couldn't even tko a very old shot Larry Holmes? The same Holmes that was destroyed by Tyson? And hell a prime Holyfield basically went life and death with a 41 year old Foreman. Holyfield even prime or pass it has had trouble vs bigger fighters that stands 6'5 or higher. A ready Vitali would give Holyfield even prime big problem.
