America needs the Iron Curtain back if they want to dominate the HW scene again.

It's total bollocks. Nothing to do with other sports which have always been around, you can look at other weight classes to see this. The difference is boxing is now more global, former communist countries opened up, who in my experience on my travels can certainly produce some genetically immense atheletes.

American's who come out with this are basically just whining because the conditions of the past no longer exist.

For all you stupid Euros who dont know **** about boxing.

In New York City for example there used to by over 100 boxing gyms. Now there are 10.

Do you Eurotards really think that this is not having an effect on boxing in America. Do you really think that Eddie Chambers and Chris Arreola are the most skilled, strongest and fastest guys in American sports right now LOL?

The same can be said all over the world. Fact is in this era those are the best HW boxers the USA can produce. Times change, whining about it isn't gonna do anything

Sounds about right. Im of the opinion that atheletes are born, like its in the genes that they have the coordination and physical attributes that make them pro atheletes, of coarse there is an elemant of learning, but I think the former is essential, infact I think any individual with those genetic will excel in any sport of they are reared in that sport.

I think America will have its time again for world class heavyweights. The internet makes boxing more accessible which I think became a problem when big fights all went PPV in the 90s

Excellent point. It wasn't even that long ago that we thought of the HW championship as one of the highest accolade's in sport. Even during other weak periods in the division it was still seen as something incredible.

I think it hurts that boxing doesn't have one promotional voice like the NBA, NFL, MLB, Premier League, CHampions League, etc. In the past decade especially all those leagues have become very smart about how they market and grow their brand all over the world.

It's always tough when boxing promoters are selling single events whereas other sports are selling seasons, getting prolonged exposure and hundreds of prime time TV hours a year.

There is a direct correlation of declining popularity of boxing in America, the shrinking number of boxing gyms, the decreasing number of youth participation... to the number of Americans becoming world boxing champions in boxing, amateur and professional.

Not to worry. As all the other ethnic groups seek to become upwardly mobile and build weath and their portfolios they will severely limit thier birthrate voluntarily. Look at Japan. Once introduced to democracy and capitalism they stopped popping out kids and became rich and internationally economically competitive within a generation. Now, they have negative population growth. Also, white Euro and Eastern Euro dudes are just really big people. I visited Sweden and Holland and at an even 6 foot in height I often felt like a shrimp. I would walk into my friends church for a get together and realize I was the shortest guy there. Kind of scary. You will always be dominant at heavyweight as you have so many big guys to choose from and they tend to be very disciplined.
