Problem is that Williams demanded that he get the rematch in his own turf with his judges once again. Martinez is the champion and should have refused to do such. Martinez will have to knock Williams out to get a split decision. Martinez won the first fight but will he be cheated once again?

I think we've seen the best of Williams. I believe he will slowly decline from this point. Whereas I think Martinez will remain at this level for another 3 fights at least. I see Martinez winning a close decision (maybe not on the judges scorecards though).

I need to analyse and think about this much more before making a pick.

You might be right about pw. Sergio burst his superman tag in the first fight and he was not impressive against the muppet last time out. By contrast, martinez looked tremendous v pavlik and i fancy him to officially win this time

I really fancy Martinez by decision here. I think I'll be taking advantage of the 9/4 for the Martinez decision.

Have to be leaning towards Martinez, I can see Martinez ad******g and being more comfortable at the weight but i can't see Williams changing his game plan he seems to be stuck in the fast paced high work rate which works against most but not all of them. Martinez ud probably close.

That's the way i'm leaning. Sergio is just a bad style match-up for Williams. He can draw his lead and hit him with counter right hooks and straight lefts all night, plus Paul seems to be intent on just walking every opponent down and voluntarily giving up all his advantages.

Everytime i look at this though, i'm seeing a different winner.

Posted this in the Choi so might as well put it in here as well...

I've got Martinez by decision. The way to beat Martinez for me, is to do what Pavlik was doing in the middle rounds in their fight. Knock him off his rhythm with a jab as he comes in and then follow it up with a straight left as he is off balance. The problem is I don't think Williams is the man to do this. His jab isn't stiff or accurate enough IMO.

Alternatively he could work the body of Martinez to try and slow him down. Problem with this is that when Williams goes down to the body he tends to leave himself wide open for the right hook of Martinez, and we all know Williams likes to leave his chin out to dry. Saying that I don't see Williams being stopped, his chin is too sturdy for that.

I think it's worth remembering that Williams looked very average against Cintron before you know what happened. How do you see the fight playing out?

We were discussing that earlier also. While it's worth remembering about Paul's preparation it's also worth remembering that it was Sergio who was the replacement. I find it hard to believe that Sergio's fitness was 100% on fight night, and I doubt he was prepared to fight someone like Williams. In the middle of Sergio's fights he tends to take things a little slower, against Williams first time round he didn't kick on again until the final 2 rounds, however against Pavlik with full preparation he was able to kick on from the 9th round and won the last 4 clearly.

I fancy Williams to win this one - the last fight was close and Martinez was unlucky not to get the win but i gotta funny feeling Williams is gonna win it legit this time. Not bothered who wins though, just gonna sit back and enjoy the fight
