Yes I agree. So great you could say he was quite the magician in boxing. The way he avoided everyone till they were old is like the greatest escape ever in the history of the sport. Or how he throws one slap after another to fool judges into really believing he's effective. Joe is a joke. If Andre Ward beats Dirrel then AA he's well on his way to surpassing anything JC did. If he beats another 20 cab drivers he undoubtedly takes Joe's spot. The best way to describe Joe is "smoke and mirrors".

Its funny how haters post about Calzaghe slapping punchers yet and Old Shot B-Hop (who beat Palvik pillar to post) could walk through them after the 5th round. Even Roy Jones Jr. said that those slaps are alot harder than he expected.

Would of love to of seen Joe against a slick fighter in their prime, just to see whether he could adapt and be as effective, I have my question marks on whether he could deal with that type of opponent, particularly with his leaky defense.

Joe fought a lot of straight ahead guys imo, which is why I would of liked to of seen how he coped with a prime slick fighter, I think a good slick fighter could half his activity to a degree, which you might say is what Hopkins did by making him miss so many shots.

Quality boxer but ATG?? No. He will never be considered within the pantheon of greats. He just didnt fight enough quality opponents. Regardless of who's fault it was the fact is the history books will list the majority of opponents as average fighters. Anyone that knows about the sport knows RJJ fight cannot even be considered.

Robin Reid beat him. Try scoring that fight and I bet you'll give it to Reid by at least 2 points.

Man this one never goes away!

Great fighter. Great fighter. ATG? probably. How can you beat everyone you ever face at world level and not be? FOught the last 4 years with brittle hands, changed style somewhat and still kept winning.

I don`t get how people don`t like his style. I mean this guy fought every fight in the pocket. Virtually every minute of every round stood in the pocket. That takes balls...big f..k..g balls. If you don`t think that is boxing, you watching too many Dirrell fights!

The only criticism people really make is he never went to USA earlier...that maybe true, but you need to get the fights...everyone knows he had Hopkins 4 years earlier blah blah blah and everyone knows around 98-03 RJJ was fighting 2 or 3 weight divisions higher...there was no fight to be made...let it go.

    Calzaghe...great fighter.
