MMA Fighter Talks About Possibility of Fighting Pacquiao, Mayweather

    Moderators: You guys can make the call about whether or not this fits in for the forum.

    I heard that this Strikeforce guy KJ Noons, a former amateur boxer I guess, was talking about fighting Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. So I went looking for videos to see if he actually talked about it on record. I found the one below, and he talks about possibly fighting the two boxers from around 7:00 - 9:00 of the video.

    Basically the guy says he has friends in both the Pacquiao and Mayweather camps and he claims that the two boxers are genuinely interested in a possible matchup with him. I'm skeptical, but I guess we'll find out if this is serious or not down the line.

    Yeah, I'm not sure what rules they would fight under (MMA or boxing). I guess Noons is a former amateur boxer, and he can hit, but you're talking about two all-time boxing greats here, not some Joe Schmoe Boxers.

    Why would Floyd want to do this fight? I doubt he would make the $20 million that he wants for every fight.

    KJ Noons has a pro boxing record of 12-2 I'm a fan of KJ but I'm a fan of KJ in MMA, He would get killed in the ring with mayweather or pac man.

    but can't wait to see his fight this Sat its gonna be a good fight.

    Oh, ok -- didn't know he was a pro boxer. Well, respect for that. Still, it would be a likely mismatch for KJ vs Pac or PBF unless they agree to use MMA rules.

    I like KJ as well and he seems like a good guy. The Diaz match should be awesome this weekend. :good

    IMO I think pac man would beat KJ noons in a MMA bout form what I heard pac man does kickboxing on the side and also trained different types of martial arts when he was younger.
    but then again why would pacman wanna go down from 20-40mill a fight to 100,000$.

    Sounds like promo for his upcoming MMA rematch w/ Nick Diaz.

    Apparently he is not much of a ground fighter in MMA (a boxers kryptonite) and has actually said he wouldn't attempt to take either fighter down in an MMA fight (but i'm guessing he may reconsider that if he finds himself in trouble). I heard Pacquiao is not bad at muay thai so I think Pac would actually have a decent chance in this match up (with his knowledge of kick defense etc.) and he has the sort of footspeed and movement to make a take down more difficult as opposed to a stationary James Toney.
