With respect to the question in the title imo Froch will win and perhaps by stoppage. I just think he will take Abe out of his comfort zone earlier then he would like. It really is a pickum fight though.

To the question in the post sure why not? You were in a tourney with the best 168 pounders in the world. Certainly not a career ender. The loser should call out Bute.

yeah they can both "rebound" i suppose. neither man will ever be even money or better to beat ward and dirrell so the "rebound" will only be so far.

its rumored bute is moving up, kessler's return is far from certain, taylor is done, green is ****...so yeah they can "rebound" but neither man will probably be more than what they already were.

and to the poster above. no way froch stops abraham. if nothing else abraham has a very sturdy chin. if anyone gets stopped it will be froch but that is far from certain either despite aa's power.

Froch's chin is just as sturdy and its not out of the question. The biggest puncher Abe faced prior to this was Miranda who broke his jaw and he was ready to quit before the ref tutored him that it would be a tko. Either way I dont see it going the distance.

Whoever loses remains in the tournament, what more can the loser ask for?

I think Froch has more of a marquee name than Abraham, and will find it easier to find bigger fights than Arthur Abraham. That said, if Froch does lose I don't think he's going to stick around for long, he really seems to want to win this thing, I don't know if he'll bother hanging around if he gets knocked out. There's only Bute to fight and there's no guarantee he'd take it. He could move up to LHW to fight Pascal I guess but I don't think his mind will go there if he gets knocked out.

The way the points system is set up Abraham might lose to Froch and still advance in the tournament with 3 points.

If Froch and Dirrell both lose, they'll both have two points, and I believe it will come down to the number of rounds won in previous fights. They guy with the most cumulative rounds advances.

Let's assume Froch, Dirrell, and Green lose, but Green loses by KO.

    Ward 6 points
    Abraham 5 or 6 points
    Glen Johnson 3 points
Froch or Dirrell (whoever won the most rounds in previous fights) 2 points.

There is a very real possibility that Froch and Abraham will both advance no matter who wins their November fight.

Oh is that right? i thought it came down to head-to-head and therefore Froch goes through for having beaten Dirrell?

I think if froch is eliminated he may well retire, abraham i think will soldier on if he gets dumped out, froch has little if any fan base even in his hometown but abraham seems to have some germans licking up to him

see, the problem with this that i can for sure see froch winning on points...but he'll half to be fighting and boxing off his back foot like he was against kessler and pick his spots to counter and attack and i dont see him knocking out abraham w/ one or two shots. for him to be in a position to land multiple power shots and do it often he'll have to be leaning over his front foot trading w/ arthur which is a bad idea. just my opinion.

Is Abrahams power starting to take on an almost mythological quality? I dont think Froch has power at world level. I can forsee a points decision or late TKO in favour of Abraham, cant see an early ending to this one really.

I think one unknown is Froch mental state, he used to have an irritating amount of self belief before the Kessler fight, without this self professed aura of unbeatability will he be the same?

Froch Sells out arenas in the UK , so Im not quite sure what your point is there?

I also see Froch being the naturally bigger man outboxing Abraham much the same way he did against Pascal .

Pascal and Abe are similar in fighting style , but Pascal is a little quicker and possibly stronger.

Froch is dangerous. For anyone. Fact!
With WBC on the line he will smoke AA in a hard battle.
Ward and dirrell are two ***s who don't even want to fight?? WTF are we talking about?
