John Watson Jr V Gavin Rees - British Title

what happened to the eliminators involving watson,mc arthur,brolly ect? why was watson allowed a straight shot why not one of the scottish boxers?

 

How's Rees finished? Where has that assumption come from? He looked in decent form in Prizefighter, albeit over 3 rounds.

John Watson has looked fairly classy when I've seen him but I'd probably favour Rees.

 

its because he got a world title fight eh didnt deserve, and then didnt show the desire needed to keep it. he just gives of the impression that he isnt botherd.

imagine if Rees had a strong work ethic he would be down at Featherweight and probs be a world champion.

 

Murray vs Rees was ordered for the vacant title.
Watson vs Brawley was orderd as a final eliminator
Gethin vs McArthur was orderd as a normal eliminator

When Murray vacated, Rees vs Watson was orderd by the BBBofC. So I imagine Brawley vs Gethin/McArthur will be in eliminator for the winner.

Watson has already won an eliminator agaisnt Gethin remember.

 

I think lightweight is good for Rees, light welter was a step too far.

At feather he'd be a little too slow I feel, he'd get rings boxed round him. I don't think he'd be big enough against world class feathers to justify the move down and sacrificing speed and ability to cut off the ring, he certainly wouldn't become ultra powerful because his punch technique is suspect. He makes his size work for him at lightweight against bigger men and he's got relative speed even though he's chubby.

 

And Willie Limmond if a former commonwealth LW champ whos been top 5 or 6 for 3 years when does he deserve a shot?
