Vitali is not taking Briggs lightly at all. He knows what to expect.

Vitali is looking fantastic in training!!!!!!!

Still got some speed!! That should not go more than 6 rounds. Steward is hyping the fight indeed.

I agree. This is as much of a mismatch as it has ever been. Briggs was a good fighter in the 90's but not great. He then fell off in a big way and was only really able to hang around cos the division got worse faster than he did. HIs weight is important but it should only mean he isn't quickly embarressed.

The only way Vitali could lose is if he is much more faded than we all think (possible considering his recent opponents). As things stand I say he was better in his prime and has held up much better over the years.

Steward is a good friend of the Klits so I'm guessing he's just helping to hype up the fight.

Lennox Lewis was definitly a better fighter than Klitschko mate. Let's see if Klitschko can even finish it as fast as Lewis did against a prime Briggs.

I think yes. Briggs is a dangerous first rounds, especially if he has gained dropped weight

Klitschko's back looks a bit stiff in that video.

Absolutely not, many are ridiculously overestimating him. Sosnowski is a better fighter than the current Briggs.

This here is soooo true .. just yesterday Vitali did a masterpeice on Arreola, now everyone says he is losing it, I have to agree with this post that Vitali steps it up to the comp. and is a beast when being pressured.

Steward alway tries to hype fights. IMO, Vitali has the better boxing skills and conditioning. Briggs carries a big punch but we have seen that Vitali can also take a punch. The obvious scenario is that Vitali wears Briggs down.

Briggs is being under rated so badly int his fight it works out great for the ones who want to bet on him. Were getting great odds! Briggs KO3.

True, but he had less of a chance of winning. Briggs at least has a puncher's chance. Sosnowski didn't even have that.

I expect Vitali to fight moving backwards, volume punch, and just overwhelm Briggs until Briggs inevitably tires out, and then for Vitali to try for the knockout. But there's always the chance that Vitali gets sloppy and Briggs catches him, and if that happens, there isn't a guy out there more likely to put a dent in Vitali's iron chin than Briggs.

only answered with hindsight i guess.

personally, i think briggs is shot and vitali will smash the **** out of him, and anyone disagreeing undervalues vitali.

the thought that briggs will be any better in the first 3 rounds is laugable, it really is.

who are briggs defining opponents? botha, foreman, lewis, mercer, mcline, lyakhovic, ibragimov. how many of these has he kayoed in 3 rounds? infact, how many has he actually kayoed? you know because he has so called brutal power? his record vs "non-journeymen" is 3-2-1 with 2 knockouts. both arguably due to fatigue. so vs top class opponents he has a kayo ratio of 33.33%

i can see why people think this will be a walk in the park for vitali.

You're underestimating post prison tyson here by comparing the guys he ko'd to guys briggs has ko'd. Guys like seldon, bruno, botha, golota, savareese and even norris and ettiene far exceed briggs's ko victims that i can recall except lyahkovic (who is as good or better then a couple).

that said briggs may still be underestimated cuz the power is legit, he has fast hands, and doubt vitaly is gonna try and replicate an ibragimov like strategy

    Yes.
He will do better than most expect but he will ultimately fail..

Then again to be fair Vitali looked like **** his last time out...........so who knows, we may have us a fight here :)

On that note the division is so weak that Vitali could show up hungover, a cold, pneumonia and still win a wide UD. What really bothers me about Vitali is how sloppy he looked last time out. Sure he still won but looked like ****.
