How long would Dirrell have to be sidelined for you to admit it's legit

I think 2 years would take that fishy smell away. I believe him right now. But if he is not out for more then a year...well... that's fishy for sure. But if he is out for 2 years and comes back to fight on Showtime then you know it's legit. If he is fighting in 6 months on HBO well then...

you do bring up a point, though. Even if he does return at some point down the road, he may very well be a diminshed fighter as the result of his condition.

Over 1 year out to convince me, at the least.

If he fights 1 year and 1 week post-Abraham fight, that's ok.

For those of u talking about him fighting on HBO...
Pigs will fly before that happens.
He fought Curtis Stevens on HBO few years back... And let me tell u. HBO will show Wlad vs. Ibragimov rematch and rubber match before they allow him back on tv...

To this day the worst "fight" I've watched. Pathetic.
But really, HBO would love to have him back now.

Thank you! Somebody with a ****ing brain in their head that works:happy

Its really and honestly a sad state of affairs.

I've been a fan of Dirrell since he turned pro. Aside from the points brought up by Lampley, boxing fans should hope that Dirrell will eventually recover, for his own personal well being as well as the health of the sport we love.

    Boxing needs Andre Dirrell.

After rewatching Dirrell-Abraham yesterday I've determined several things:

Dirrells progression since the start of the tournament has been amazing. Most readily apparent was the confindence level. Dirrell had finally realized he was much better than everyone else. After a rewatch Dirrell's, performance against AA appears even more godlike....By the second round, Dirrell is baiting, timing, and countering Abraham with surgical precision from every imaginable angle. By the 3rd round AA is ready to rip out his hair and **** his pants with frustration as Dirrell was easily working around and through the guard. Aside from that as soon as AA would open up he was stuck with one of the nicest straight lefts in boxing.

And the speed....Dirrells speed when countering is the fastest in the sport period. It's a joy to watch a fighter his size throw a punch you can't quite see unless you watch in slow-mo:)

It would be sad if he couldn't return. He's a true credit to the sport. IMO he was on his way to the top of 168, then 175.

When he's in the wheelchair at the old retirement home reminiscing about the time he once wobbled Froch but spent the rest of the fight preparing for a marathon.

    Then I'll buy it.
