Do you think Frank Warren feels under pressure to move DeGale on quicker?

Do you think Frank Warren feels under pressure to move James DeGale on faster than he would have liked, because of the speed that Hayemaker have moved on George Groves.
Groves fought P Samuels in his 3rd fight, and has since won the commonwealth title, and is fighting a big puncher next.
There is rumours that DeGale could be fighting Paul Smith for his British title in his next fight, in his 9th fight.
I know DeGale is an Olympic Gold medallist, but Warren dosent seem to move fighters on this fast. Considering Ricky Hatton was on 21 fights before getting a shot, for example.

DeGale and Groves both look good promising SMWs, who I hope will go far.

So do you think Warren is feeling under pressure to move DeGale on faster, due to the way Groves has been moved by Hayemaker?

Groves is obviously the one DeGale's going to be compared to until they fight, but I don't think he'd have been matched much differently Groves or no Groves. I think Warren's just desperate for a PPV headline name or two.

Paul Smith is about right for him, he is to good for most of the domestic fighters look at Dilks maybe ended early but there was only one winner in that fight.

I think it's bit of him trying to match Groves education because Chunky will look and say his piece to Frank, Chunky himself stated his goals from the get go and also the fact that he's good enough and also Frank has lost fighters when they finally hit the bigtime, Now he seems to show no fear because i think he knows guys have used him in past so now it's put them out there and let them get on with it. No more careful matchmaking.

James Degale is not a world level talent he hasnt proven that, its funny how we consider our finest prospects on these shores to be fast tracked to a world title yet there are younger fighters like saul alvarez whos mixed in with world class fighters and proven his abilities at the age of only 20 and here we have james degale a proven olympian whos still fighting stiffs he should mix his game up, if he wants to be taken seriously, Kostay tyszu fought former world titlest in before his 10th pro fight i wish promoters in the UK would take more risks with there fighters they just give them easy paydays guys like James toney (the ghanian) and Paul Smith are no names

Is this what we call being moved quick now? Didn't realise he was moving on 'quicker'. On the contrary, Degale's progress in terms of level of opposition and activity has been slow IMO.

I think he's ready, far more ready than Groves is to move up a level. He isn't taking silly flush shots in the first round not even 30 seconds in.

I don't think Degale is ready to mix above British level, but he is ready for slightly stiffer challenges. It's a fine balancing act.

Having the potential and being ready are two different things.

Smith is definitely a tough test and I think that might be too much for Degale at this stage. He's battle hardened. Degale isn't.

Let's see if that fight happens first; Warren says a lot of things.

It would be a totally different Frank warren that would look to loose out this early on the investment that is Degale, with a clear head this morning I just cant see him putting Paul Smith in and in Liverpool too. If it does happen Paul cant really be climbing that ladder he needs to be climbing, but Itl be great to watch

I have to echo what was earlier Paul Smith is top of the British tree a good fight for Degale would be some of the lads who have fought paul of late

If this fight comes off then people will get an almighty shock, Paul Smith is no pushover for ANYONE... DeGale is being taken at the pace he's asking for that's why he's fighting the likes of Dilks,Horton etc etc.. Make no mistake though, Paul Smith is not like any of the names previously mentioned, the last time DeGale boxed someone like Smith was the late Darren Sutherland imo...

Agree, if you're a top class talent, these are the type of fighters you should be fighting, fighters on their way down who were! good, guys who have credentials.

Povetkin - Larry Donald 13th fight, Chris Byrd 14th fight, Eddie Chambers 15th fight.

Zoo- Juan La Porte 4th fight, Livingstone Bramble 10th fight, Roger Mayweather 15th fight.

Why so you can scrape a name onto your resumes but not be really sure where that victory leaves you standing because they are clearly not what they where but the only question is just how shot are they. Forget about shot names Degale-Smith is a great fight to make and is a big risk by Frank.
