You have to be a hater to claim all his fights are boring, GSP has raised his popularity over the years for his hunger to become the champ and his great all around skills, in ALL his fights the ones I considered boring were Alves/Hardy but that's only if you don't appreciate the techniques of the ground game, which should bring you back to Boxing/Kickboxing.

Every top fighters have less entertaining fights, Anderson Silva is, in my book, the #1 p4p and yet has some very disapointing performances.

And finally if you'd really have no time for BJ, you'd stop bringing back the grease argument all the time.

I fully appreciate him for the mixed martial artist that he is. He has a fantastic arsenal. He is a true mixed martial artist. Please do not mistake my contempt for his style for non-appreciation of his skill set.

Too many people within the sport have broken out and exposed the truth. It is irrefutable.

I won't open back a long closed debate, i do agree that in this particular match, his cornermen were total idiots by bringing vaseline in the ring and maybe he did have a very minimal amount of grease on top of the shoulders and on a very precise spot in the middle of the back, which, in my opinion, change absolutely nothing in the fight.

But the way you call him a greased up fighter or GreaSP, you assume he intentionnally greases and tries to cheat to gain an edge in every fight, which is absurd if you know the guy even slightly.

It's fine if you don't like him or the way he fights, but dont bring ridiculous argument, like gay analogies or that he's a cheater.

p.s: i've derived this thread enough, not posting back.

I understand you not liking his style, perhaps out of lack of knowledge about the ground game or you simply don't like it, fair enough. But there's no need for sexual comparisons. Some of us here love BJJ/wrestling and it may come across as being disrespectful. I agree GSP's last fight was boring, he had many chances to lay on some vicous ground and pound and or submit him, but couldn't execute, still a dominating performance though.

Your condescending comment does little to assist but more importantly, misses the point.

I am not disputing that he is a great fighter and the name of the game is winning, I just don't find his fights entertaining in the slightest. The UFC favours wrestlers too much and I find it ridiculous that a fighter can win fights simply taking down the opponent and controlling without then dishing out any damage or making any sub attempts etc. Why would I want to watch pro wrestling, that is not real....... What I would like to watch is exciting and entertaining rounds...... That is why I no longer tune into GSP fights. If that's what your into then carry on..... :good

If the man can turn off MMA fans from watching his fights then what is the probable effect of the same upon the casual fan?

Do you see the casual fan youtubing knockouts and submissions or 'taking down the opponent and controlling without then dishing out any damage or making any sub attempts etc.'?

Would you call his fight with Hardy boring? He went for sub after sub after sub, and if you pay attention, the crowd cheers with every takedown and improvement in position (or at least noticeable ones like a quick pass to mount) he nearly ripped off Hardy's arm.

Number's don't lie when it comes to popularity, GSP gets numbers, big numbers, only behind Lesnar.

Better numbers than Liddell, when Liddell was on top.
