I used to be on the Guzman bandwagon, now I'm not even a fan of the guy. It didn't exactly crash, but it sort of fell off the rails when he was so inactive and the situation with the Campbell fight.
im afraid to say i was aboard the pavlik pickup truck...that didnt get me far, especially when i put money on him to stop b-hop atsch
Domestically...I like Brian Rose, but he was stopped by Max Maxwell recently, can still come back without a doubt though. Trevor Crewe lost twice in a row as soon as I was on the bandwagon...again, he can still come back. On the world stage, I was/am still on the Hasegawa bandwagon, but his loss to Montiel was devastating. JuanMa's, despite not losing, felt like it faltered when he was almost stopped by Mtagwa. Ji-Hoon Kim and Henry Lundy lost recently, and I like both of those guys.
I used to be a pretty big Haye fan back in the day...... now I cannot stand the guy. Others..... I really thought Jamie Moore was going to do it, get past Rhodes and finally get a title fight. Paul Williams is another.... at one stage I thought he could be anything, then there was the Pavlik farce and him trying to demand fights with little guys like Pacquiao..... and the non-performance against Kermit the Frog.
On a sombre note, Valero is the biggest one, I suppose. He didn't fail per se, but he did **** up a very promising future through his own actions, albeit whilst suffering from mental illness. After the DeMarco fight I was genuinely jumping on the Valero hype and it seemed such a travesty when he started to go downhill. All of that is insignificant when you consider that he took an innocent person out of this world, though. After that I'd say I was massively wrong about Dawson and I, like many others at the time I'd guess, thought Margarito was going to destroy everything after the Cotto fight. There are plenty of smaller calls I have got wrong, but those are the only big ones that come to mind at the moment. EDIT: Mijares is a great example as well!!!!atsch
Is it too early to say David Haye's 1 Man Heavyweight Saviour Crusade. Chris John was 1 who I thought would move on a lot and be top 5 p4p by now but hes struggled against Juarez and is getting on now. Still you never know, I still favour him over Gamboa
For some reason I've never taken to Dawson, either as a man or a fighter. Still, he's nowhere near as irritating as Dirrell. The only thing AA did wrong was not whacking him much harder.
"Kid Dynamite" Walker Enjoyed his comebacks on ITV...until he didn't come back Felt a bit sorry for him, choking back tears on the post-fight interviews
Kevin Mitchell. He can still come back and do something but it'll be a hard road ahead of him. I had him to take Katsidis to school. Sometimes you just let your heart rule your head.
I think almost all of us were on that horror crash, actually remember a decent enough RBR going on a wednesday morning or something for it Williams was another one for me but haven't really jumped back on since the 1st Qunintana fight he isn't the same fighter just throws and throws now before that he was actually a good boxer.
I was on the Crewe wagon for a while. Attempted to get a Tony Jeffries Express going after his first few fights (that was when he still showed some decent fundamentals) and now that has been derailed for the time being, the Banbula fight could be the best thing that could have happened to him if he learns from it in the right way.
I thought Howard Eastman was gonna do more at world level than he did. Never again will i overestimate a man just coz he looks scary.
I was definitely on the Jamie Moore to spark Rhodes early and win a world title straight after bandwagon.
