I'll bet there is something in the contract limiting how much weight he can gain. On top of that, Marg works for Arum. Arum isn't going to let his cash cow lose to one of his goons.

 

It certainly makes for an interesting fight. But pacquiao has dimensions in his punching skill which differ to cottos straight and direct punches.

If hes able to handle pacmans power, i dont think he will put himself in the position to hit pacman back. Pacquiao will be training in the gym right now to punch in angles and make margorito miss his target.

Nope, it can't happen. We would have heard about it even if they tried to keep it secret. If it was in the contract, someone would have slipped.

Probably Margo will be around 165lbs but they won't want to give the unofficial weight because Pac will be around 149 and with Margo 165 it would make the fight look like a joke.

it doesent hurt to use ones mind, nor does it deflate ones brain. the more you use it, the sharper it gets.

 

Even though I admit it "COULD" be a tough night for Manny "IF" Margarito goes to the body and "IF" he has his punch resistance back but honestly I feel you've finally succumbed to the hype and anticipation of this fight that even I as a Floyd fan is a bit excited for but nonetheless it's good you brought up Cotto . Cotto for the first 5 rounds went in and out on Margo while landing beautiful combinations on Margarito's dome. He only lost because he's a front runner meaning he tires and becomes less active after 5 or 6 rounds. Manny and Roaches gameplan I believe will be similar since Pacquiao has way better footwork and stamina than Cotto and because Manny won't be able to bully Margo like Shane did.

2nd Manny has far more superior power than Cotto . His punches will have far more effect than Cotto's and very much like Shanes power punches landing and his speed towers over both Shane and Cotto's . Margarito is slow with "NO" defense or footwork and will be an easy "BIG" target for any one of Manny's punches to land. Margarito is also a come forward brawler thats not going to use his size advantage much like how PW doesn't use his size against smaller opposition . Margarito doesn't use his jab("fighting tall") to distance himself and so will be playing right into Manny's fight and gameplan . I think the 6 to 1 odds in Manny's favor are very accurate for this fight.

On the other hand though as I expressed in the first paragraph is Margarito's body punching. If he hurts Pacquiao with body shots he can control Manny and chase him down like Cotto . The body is Manny's true weakness(watch the Oscar fight,1st round I believe ). If Margo head hunts ,he's a dead man. His best strategy literally is to let Manny unload on his head and while Manny is occupied with that(which he will be)hail mary on Manny's body assuming his chin withstands Manny's brutal assault .

 

I actually think this could happen, if margo comes in on fight night anything under 155 then he has been told he couldn't come in any higher.

 

I expect Manny to focus on Margo's body in this one. Margo's body isn't as resistant as Clottey's, and Pac was landing killer body shots on Clottey that were making him shake his legs. Clottey also defends his body better than Margo.

 

I couldn't agree more with you other than landing body punches on Clottey considering more arm punches landed than anything else. I do believe Manny will land some nice body shots in between pummeling Margarito's face like Shane did.

 

This is Manny's toughest task to date, considering the size and pressure Margo brings.

 

I think pac will have him out of there within 6 rounds.

 

Manny does not have superior power to Cotto. Manny has the ability to throw lightning quick shots which a guy doesn't see. Those hurt badly, even with less power behind them. But when it comes to pure strength, I think Cotto has the edge.
