I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i've just read in the Daily Mail that Roy Jones wants a Haye showdown at Wembley stadium next year. He said this would be his last chance at a title. As much as i'd love Roy to win the Heavyweight title again, I do not think this is a realistic goal. Haye is all wrong for him, and if this fight did come off (which based on the quality of Haye's previous opponents is likely) then I think Haye would deal with Roy fairly decisively. It's dissapointing to hear this, but Roy's career has detiororated so much that it's hardly surprising :-(
jesus, he is just embarrassing himself now. For **** sake Roy, it's time to hang em up. He must just be really ****ing broke at this point.
I dont know what the deal is with Roy, Evander and Bernard , they were truely great. Against any decent heavyweight let alone Haye they would get truely hammered. More to the point they would get hurt. All have made so much money from the sport but are now just names to fill out a contenders record. I see Bernard getting stopped by Pascal , and if Roy ever did fight Haye . Then shame on David Haye for signing a contract to beat up a natural Middleweight.
He also said a fight with Harrison would not happen, but as you see now.... Obviously we cannot be sure this fight will happen, but it would not surprise me if it did.
To b fair, BH hasn't show any sign of slowing down, I'll hold my judgment until the fight is over, about Jones or he is broke or he is on drugs, he most b stop, he is taking chances that he never took when he was in his prime, he was afraid after seeing GM get brain damage after his fight with NB.
it would be a decent fight to happen next year in the fall after Harrison is done and Haye has recovered from the tough negotiations around the Harrison fight for several months. Both should retire for good after the fight then.
