Thats the right way to do it IMHO. I hope the tourney staggers across the line with the winner having as many belts as possible to set up a Bute fight but not at the expense a fighter not being able to take a belt because he's not in the Super 6.
The winner will still probably be the best in the division. five fights against top opposition winning most if not all will be pretty hard to argue with
Froch could end up squeaking past Dirrell, losing to Kessler, getting KO'd by Abraham and still end up in the semis....
Hopefully we get Ward vs Abraham and Froch vs Johnson. They would take place in Oakland and the UK as the top point scorers get home advantage. Although if Abraham vs Froch is such a great fight it would be nice to have an immediate rematch. At least we will know the semi finals by the end of November.
So if Froch stops Abraham and Johnson or Green win on points we would have an immediate Froch-Abraham rematch?
nope. only the final. 1st and 2nd place get home advantage. So if Froch wins his semi will be in Nottingham. If he loses, he will have to go to Berlin or Oakland.
To be fair, even though it's been a bit of a shambles in terms of organization, d'you reckon we would have got Froch-Dirrell, Froch-Kessler, Froch-Abraham, Abraham-Dirrell, Abraham-Taylor, Ward-Kessler if it wasn't for the Super Six?
well that must have changed very recently because it was definitely in the contracts that both semi's would be in the states
A fighters dream tournament. I must admit I'm getting lost in this super six pea soup.....and theres that stray crouton Bute floating around...
have you seen the contracts??? i have seen it in articles and heard it at some of the press conferences. 1st and 2nd place get home advantage. 99% sure about this guys.
