Did I ever questioned Mayweather's skill?????

Am I missing something. I question his heart not his skill. I actually question his integrity. However, the most fun of all, I question the IQ's of his *****s. I just hate people who are "all knowing" and pretentious.

How many Calzaghe fights did you actually watch? Honestly? How well do you know his opponents as most of them are euro fighters?

Calzaghe legacy can grow all it wants, it will never go beyond RJJ and BHops, despite holding wins vs them.

If Kessler beat Ward, wouldnt that improve Calzaghe's resume more?
    - But to the contarary, Ward as the underdog completely destroyed Kessler in a way that has never been done before. Not by Froch or Calzaghe.

If RJJ never got KO1 vs Danny Green, wouldnt that make Calzaghe's win over RJJ look better?
    - And getting knocked down by him in his last fight aint exactly improving his legacy.

If Jeff Lacy continued, and justified half of his hype wouldnt his legacy grow greater?

Both Calzaghe and Hopkins had an off night that night. But Calzaghe didnt show in his next fight that he had a bad night last fight, Hopkins did vs Pavlik. Calzaghe turning down a rematch after seeing Pavlik getting destroyed someone who Calzaghe didnt want to fight in the first place, Calzaghe could have taken a farewell fight at Cardiff vs Hopkins easily.

Calzaghe beat Kessler who beat Froch who beat Dirrell who beat AA,
Audley beat Williams who beat Tyson who beat Holmes who beat Ali who beat Foreman...

Thats the boxrec mentality, styles make fights. IMO Dirrell and Froch would have been tougher opponents for Calzaghe than Kessler, but according to boxrec how can that be if Kessler beat Froch who beat Dirrell. I think Dirrell having better reach, and having that ***** mentality of not engaging in a brawl, Calzaghe would need to chase in a way he has never done. Also Froch having a solid chin, and just wants to have a tare up, would have been a solid fight for Calzaghe aswell.

IMO, his legacy is this. Solid fighter, greatest SMW, but it aint improving, he needed wins over younguns late in his career for that to be.

I thought this was a thread about Joe Calzaghe and his growing legacy, I'm just asking how many prime ATG's Joe actually beat, the answer is none.

Hopkins was scoring some big wins but he was not in his prime, That would of been around the time he took Tito's "0" A prime Hopkins doesn't lose twice to Jermain Taylor.

Like i said Joe had a nice career but let's not go overboard.:D

DLH was not Prime when Hopkins beat him, Tito Trinidad was the only prime ATG that Hopkins beat but guess what, that's still one more than Joe could manage.

Not entirely true. Some fighters do it for pride (Froch / Taylor).

You can't say "Joe needs to come to the states to prove himself" while ignoring he had the belts and Jones / Hopkins didn't want to come to the UK.

Money is a factor but if Calzaghe got robbed - as we have seen the S6 do - then all his future income would be ruined. A short term buck for a long term loss is a stupid move.

If Hopkins or Jones truly thought they'd win they'd take the UK fights, get the belts, come home and make more koney.

    They didn't.

Look...I have been one of Calzaghe biggest critics. But I have never said that he wasn't a hell of a fighter. In fact, I am willing to admit that Calzaghe was a very talented fighter. My biggest issue along with alot of "HARDCORE BOXING FANS"...Calzaghe won his title in 1997. And didn't fight Elite-Level fighters like Hopkins and Jones until 11 years laters...C'MON DUDE!!! I will also admit that Calzaghe's spanking of Eubanks, Kessler and Lacy were solid wins. But what stands out in most Hardcore Boxing Fans minds is the large number of Really Good Fighters at 160-168lbs in the USA from 1997-2005. Yet Calzaghe list of opponents during that time period is LAUGHABLE!!! Do you know how much respect fighters like Hatton and even Clinton Woods have gotten for traveling "accross the pond" to fight some Top-Level "PRIME" fighters...yet Calzaghe couldn't do the same!!! Hell Woods fought Glen Johnson 3 times (if I remember correctly). And Johnson would travel to Jupiter to fight an opponent.

Jeff Lacy in his 24th Pro Fight travels "Accross the Pond" to fight Calzaghe...Imagine if Calzaghe had the Balls to do that in his 24th Pro Fight...and Fought an ELITE-LEVEL Belt-Holder from the US on American Soil.:-(

And also...Both Hopkins and Roy Jones have turned into safety first fighters who punch and hold/clinch much more than they did when they were younger fighters. They No longer "let their hands go" nor possess the speed and power they onced had....Yet Both Fighters still put Calzaghe on hin ass. And if anyone thinks Calzaghe would last 6 rounds with either fighter in their Prime is just PLAIN ABSURD!!! But with all that being said...Calzaghe was a DAMN GOOD fighter..."REAL HARDCORE BOXING FANS" just wanted to see him test himself against "REAL COMPETITION" from 97-05'.

There's a weakness in that argument though, one goes to the past, the other goes to the future...

I have a differing opinion from your own so I'm an idiot, Ok whatever makes you feel better about yourself. Still doesn't change the fact that Joe Calzaghe's legacy isn't worth ****.

Mitchell over Robert Allen, and Eastman I can agree. But I dont agree with Bika over Eastman or Allen.

Trinidad and ODLH both over Jeff Lacy. Lacy never showed himself to be in there class. Kessler however over ODLH can be accepted.

    Kessler over Trinidad
You have to remember Mikkel Kessler began his boxing career at Light Middleweight, how is that way different to Trinidad who began at Welter.

Kessler was 19, and Trinidad was 17. Kessler got beat when he was 28, Trinidad got beat when he was 27. I pick say it is a picke em between them two. Trinidad wasnt shot to **** man.

IMO. Reid over Echols, Eubank over Echols, Joppy over (30+) Eubank and Reid.

Johnson over Omar and Brewer. Mercado is a **** brear anyway. So was Omar Sheika got beat by a shot RJJ.
