Food for thought: why did the referee not stop the fight in the fifth rd?:tong

Bute looked pretty slim tonight, don't you think he'd be too drawn out at 164?

Pavlik would be a step from Bute's last few opponents, and serioulsly test him. Great fight, make it happen.

pavlik is a big kid. the weight aint why hopkins laid a lesson on him. pav can fight at 168. the extra two pounds won't make the difference for him...only for bute. just fight at 168 so there arent any excuses.

i whack other fighters for making other guys come down for a catchweight...would be wrong not to do it here. but i will say...i know for a fact this isnt kelly's call. he'll fight bute at 166, 168 or whatever...

there is a lot of **** under the surface that no one is paying attention too. like kelly initially saying he was done at 160 then going on vacation, then having arum having delusions of $$ run through his head w/ a jcc fight at 160 that got everyone talking **** about kelly not wanting a martinez rematch. that wasnt kelly's call either.

there is a reason cam dunkin was hoppin mad at TR and wanted kelly out of the contract w/ TR...

TR wants him at 160, then talks about a bute fight at 166? TR seems to be hedging their bets on bute, which isnt a bad thing, by "throwing" kelly to lucian. its business.

hopefully kelly can keep his head clear of all this and decide for himself whether he can make 160 or not after the vera fight...which is exactly what the fight at 164 is designed to do. if he can then do it...if not then move up. but this 166 **** is for the birds.

Bute said he felt awesome making weight for this fight and his team doesn't see a problem for making 166lbs.

During the telecast yesterday, Jean Bedard, the Organization's President basically hinted that it's a done deal for Pavlik in regards to the Bute team. They will accept the catchweight to fight him, an offer that came from team Pavlik.

Im not certain of that. Guys like Andrade he could possibly beat at 168, but I don't see how he could win this fight. Bute is faster, better boxer, and hits harder. Kelly takes a better shot.

Looks like Interbox and Bute are open to the idea of fighting Pavlik in the USA.

    From Dan Raphael's notebook:

With Bute coming down to 166lbs and fighting on the road for the first time in years. Pavlik's chances are getting better by the day.

Next Interbox is going to agree to a 12' ring. lol

    Bute/Pavlik in a 12' ring:yikes

That idea is actually a little frightening.
