I've been impressed with the way Khan has come back from the Prescott debacle.

But this will be his biggest test to date, I believe. I'll be supporting Khan though, and think he can pull out the win.

But I'm not British, so I won't vote on the poll.:D

good point, could it be a kind of inbuilt jelousy[ i know thats wrong spelling] , whatever, i do think khan will lose to madaina, as i think they are looking at his last fight, i think that was a delibrate ploy hatched in his own country to entice a title holder, it will be a hard nights work, were he may get a shock' im tuning in though.:good

I don't think its jealously, it's just a British thing whereby they like to see anyone who isn't humble and who can be arrogant, appears to be trying to be deceptive, knocked down.

Khan's suffers from this, not because of his race but due to his personality and the TK PR machine.

Nothing to do with success. Khan is a twat who has made himself look a nob head on many occasions.

I think it's a combination of those two things (jealousy and racism).

Firstly, Khan is a young celebrity and millionaire. How many would love to be in his position, living the party lifestyle, getting girls, fast cars, travelling the world etc? People are ****ed up and don't like to see others get what they want, that's a fact. He's living a life that people wish they could live.

Now the racism is something that some people like to pretend doesn't exist or that it's a tiny problem, but it's there, and denying it means you're a deluded mutha****, and I don't think it's just a tiny, tiny percentage of haters either. It's MUCH bigger than some like to make out.

When Strike talks about the British mentality, he's spot on. I said before that it doesn't take much for British people to consider you a "****" or "smug ****". It's ****ing unreal how much hate people have. Khan is just one of many, many succesfull people in this country that have tons of haters as well as fans. I'm talking about people like:

    Lewis Hamilton
    Jamie Oliver
    Kevin Peitersen
    Michael Macintyre
    Andy Parsons

and.......Adrian Chiles (laugh all you want but it's true. I'm deadly serious here)

We don't like winners. Lewis Hamilton is a winner. Jenson Button doesn't get the hate Hamilton does, but why? Because Hamilton is likely to go on to achieve much, much more than Button? Because he's young, wears his heart on his sleeve, is less reserved and a risk taker? Why is Kevin Peitersen hated on so much? Cuz he tells it like it is, wears his heart on his sleeve and has a winner's mentality, that's why. KP is a flawed man but he's very popular with his team mates. Flintoff towards the end of his career was the opposite. The public adored him but his team mates knew wussup. The adulation the public gave him was cringeworthy.

Expect Tom Daley to be added to that list very soon. Mark my words, Tom Daley is gonna have a lot of hate groups on facebook in the near future. I'm sure he's a good guy who's had to work very hard for his success but people won't see that when they see a young guy getting girls, enjoying the money that he's earned through blood, sweat and tears.

Those people have done nothing wrong or made a few silly comments that the rest of us apparently don't make because we're perfect, but they get hated on. Reading some of the crap that's written about them on youtube, facebook, forums etc, listening people talk about them, makes you think there is something wrong with people.

Hell, look at the stick Cleverly get's on here. Yeah he must be a "smug ****" because he's done well for himself academically:roll:. He should've dropped out of school so he could be "one of ver lads", one of the "top blokes". I say good for him, he's done well. He's a winner. James De Gale took a lot of hate for one of his entrances. It was stupid but people took it too seriously. It's a ****in entrance, and he's a young guy ffs.

I don't feel sorry for them at all, they are in the public eye, generating money from the public by using their exposure. People in those situations seem to think they can pick and chose when to use the media, Khan's happy to have them reporting him winning a world title, usinig them to publicising his next boxing event, but then expects them to not publish things like SMS scandal/ the driving incidents and when are published he begins saying it's part of a hate campaign. He put himself in this position, it wasn't forced on him. The same goes for all the others.

I still disagree about it being jealously, It's possibly a very a similar concept but more towards them believing they deserve some sort of punishment, or "bringing down to earth" based upon them doing something they shouldn't, acting in a way they shouldn't. The members of the public don't feel gulity in doing so because the celebrity operates and is in that position because of the public. They pay the footballers wages, they are the ones being made to view the adverts, they are the ones buying the music, paying for the event, and so on.

Another massive factor is personality, the criteria isn't just because they are young and successful they become hate figures. There's many young sports stars who avoid it, it all depends on how you come across.

I couldn't agree more with this post, I guarantee aswell there are a few hidden racists on this forum as proven by 9Ball's post.

I also agree about how the public don't like to see successful people do well, it's not just sports, look how people like Simon Cowell and Alan Sugar aren't very well liked.
