Toshiaki Nishioka vs Rendall Munroe: Predictions

I've got Nishioka stoppage man .I think'll he'll tko Munroe or even ko him inside 6 for real .Nishioka's got 13 ko's on his record man and Munroe ain't even got one mostly all tko's .I see Munroe getting sparked for real .

 

Could be a similar situation to the Kiko martinez fight ...absord the early on slaught then enforce the pressure down the straight to win on points ... great theory ! BUT Nishy is a far more superior boxer than Martinez - but ive said this all along and this could be one of the great wins by a British fighter on foreign soil... im going for Munroe by decision ! think Nishy may get frustrated by Rendall and Munroes bodyshots having major effect against a tiring Nishy the longer this fight goes on ! ... probably my heart ruling my head mind you ....

 

Munroe is a slow starter - normally takes 2 or 3 rounds to get going. If he can get through those early rounds unscathed and fight him on the inside. I think he has a decent chance of getting a decision.

If he gives Nishioka the room to fight on the outside and land his big shots then it could be over early.

 

Munroe on points is my gut instinct although there's the factor of not being the home fighter, having the crowd (and to an extent the judges) against him - he will have to be dominant and keep up a constant work rate to get the win.

I don't see Rendall winning by stoppage - I don't see the Japanese champion staying still long enough for Munroe to force the ref to step in.

One thing to bear in mind is Munroe's slow starts - he almost always takes a few rounds to reallly get going - against an opponent with such a high KO percentage this may be dangerous for the world's most famous bin man.

I like Munroe, his no bull**** attitude, his down to earth character. I really hope he fulfills his dreams and takes the gold. He has the tools, but it sure will be hard work.

 

I think Nishioka will do more than Munroe early, land one or two nice shots per round.

Munroe will make it very competitive from round 5 onwards IMO, but Nishioka will pull away with it late to force a late stoppage or win 116-112 on points, something like that.

Gonna' be a very competitive fight, exciting and tense, and although The Bin Man has worked his way up the rankings the right way, and has a degree of seasoning, I've been much more impressed by Nishioka as an operator.

im gonna go for a SD or MD in Munroes favour. I can appreciate that Niskioka is heavily favoured by most but im thinking Munroe will put the performance of his life in. Still if he does win its gonna be extremely close, no way he can win clearly, so thats why im going for a SD or MD

 

I am going to go all out for a Munroe stoppage just because I really want the lad to win...I know pretty much everythig says that he should lose but I want him to score the upset and bring the title to Britain.

 

I think he's got a chance, so long as he gets out of the blocks from the first bell, if not it's plausible that he gets banged out early.

His strength and workrate will make it hard for Nishioka the longer the fight goes..... if he can put enough rounds in the bank early and keep it going for the full 12 he might spring an upset.

 

Im getting worried guys im not going to lie the more i think about this the more i think Rendall will start slow and freeze slightly on the big stage and get caught.

Its ok for him to take a few in the early rounds at the Harvey Hadden but in that big sumo arena with a world class operator its a different proposition

There's no way Munroe can win this fight. He doesn't have the power to hurt Nishioka, and he doesn't have the ability to outbox him. Plus the fight's in Japan so he'd have to win clearly.

 

no, but it's boxing crazy over there and they love their fighters. But I've always heard it's pretty fair. But like anywhere, the hometown guys always gets the benefit of the doubt. So in a close swing fight, it's likely to be the Japanese who takes it.
