I'm looking for a quick resume of what's going on in that division at the moment. I mean, who are the top guys since Pavlik and Abraham moved up ? I know of Martinez but beside him ? Any guy who stand out from the crowd ? Any interesting prospect ? I would like some ESBers to enlight me on this subject. I know some of you are way more knowledgeable than me, so gentlemen... What are your thoughts ?

There's a lot of talent ready to break through at 160. In a couple of years we could have a golden generation. You should look out for these guys; Golovkin Pirog N'kijam Lemieux McEwan Plus, there's a few guys who are ready to make their mark now, like Macklin and guys who are already established like Sturm and Williams. I don't think guys like Sylvester, Geale and Chavez Jr are going to threaten the top fighters but there's another few who could be in interesting fights.
I'll probably be at the Lemieux/Camacho fight ! I think this one's got potential, as Camacho is an experienced southpaw who has never been KOed (only TKOed once, without getting really hurt) :good
This. It's a super weak division right now, but there's a ton of up and coming talent. I'd actually put Jacobs (notwithstanding his loss to Pirog) in the top tier of prospects and McEwan in the second tier with guys like Fernando Guerrero, Matt Korobov, Darren Barker, Andy Lee, Shawn Estrada and Dominic Wade. But two or three years from now, I suspect 160 will be one of the strongest, if not the strongest, divisions in boxing. IMHO, all of the top four guys you listed should be better than anyone we've seen at 160 since prime Hopkins, assuming Lemieux doesn't move up to 168 permanently.
I agree that people have written off Jacobs too quickly. It was inevitable that the loser of Jacobs-Pirog would have words like "exposed" thrown at him, despite them both going into the fight as good, unbeaten prospects. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing Korobov step up - I always get frustrated when someone with his amateur pedigree treads water by taking on guys who can't possibly test him. With the sheer amount of talent coming through in this weight class, he'll have to step up in the next year or so if he wants to be relevant. I don't think 160 has had this level of talent on the scene for a long, long time.
As long as these guys dont ruin it through politics, this could turn out to be one of my fav divisions soon. Pirog vs Sturm..... I hope this fight happens.
