Adamek is a better fighter than Ulrich, Sahnoune etc though isn't he? Erdei beat Gonzalez who beat Johnson? I've already said Gonzalez was a good win, so what does it matter that Gonzalez beat Johnson? If Erdei beat Johnson, I'd give him credit for it but he didn't. Sahnoune and Garay are in no way better wins than Gonzalez and like I said, if they are the best fighters Erdei has beaten, I can't see how anyone can argue he has a good resume. He doesn't
Well, Erdei apparently is WBO super champion (it's like an emeritus status you can claim after 10 titel defences and it remains with you until defeated) and can challenge the WBO regular champ any time he wants as far as I understand it. So DiBella will have a few options.
The WBO doesn't have super champions. He vacated his title when he moved up to cruiserweight. I imagine they'll let him cut the line for a title shot if he wants one though.
I don't have a dog in the fight with this inside argument, but it should be noted that Wlod's win over Cunningham was contraversial and the sanctioning body demanded an immediate rematch (which Cunningham won). Likewise, Fragomeni's draw with Wlod was also contraversial(ref taking away a KD) and in their rematch Wlod scored a T/KO win while ahead in the fight.
Adamek as a LHW, where he claimed he was weight drained has a resume of P Briggs and Ulrich who Erdei has also beaten. You saw what happend to Briggs when he fought Green. Adameks only win is Cunningham. Adamek has beaten some regional HWs that couldnt cope at European level, but what that proves only you guys know? Erdei dosent have to beat Johnson. What credit would you give a world class fighter beating a 14 losses 2 draws hype job who losses almost every time he steps up atsch. Simple none
Adamek is a better fighter than the likes of Ulrich and Sahnoune though, yes? Since Johnson is also better than the vast majority of people on Erdei's resume, he certainly would have received credit for beating him - especially if he did so in convincing style. Whatever way you try and dress it up, Erdei doesn't have a strong resume. That's probably why he's rolling the dice and coming to America at the age of 36 - because he feels he has something to prove.
Erdei has a better resume than Dawson, and remember Campillo and Cloud ducked him. What did Adamek do at LHW that impressed you so much? At CW he has a good win over Cunningham and already beaten fighter, and at HW he has beaten a few regional fighters. Yes Adamek is better at LHW than Ulrich, but its debateable as to whether he is better at LHW than Sahnoune. Why do you rate 14 losses 2 draws Johnson? The guy has been beaten most time he has stepped up. Sure there may be some close decisions, but that has been blown out of proportion, He lost clearly to Ottke & Branco
Well, I don't agree Erdei has a better resume than Dawson at all. I rate Adamek, Tarver and Johnson as better victories than Sahnoune, Gonzalez and Ulrich. I rate Adamek higher than Sahnoune because, after seeing them both in action, I think Adamek is a superior fighter. I rate Johnson because I have watched him fight many times and think he's a very good fighter - simple as that I haven't seen any evidence that Campillo and Cloud ducked Erdei - even if they did, iam I supposed to give the guy credit for guys he didn't fight?
I think the main problem with Erdei's resume is not that he didn't fight tough opposition. He did from time to time. He took the title from Gonzalez (who was no2 LHW back then), defended it against some worthy challengers like Ulrich, Garay, Sahnoune and Barashian, fought some unknown but tough guys like Lakatus and Mendoza and challenged and beat Frago with a serious weight disadvantage in an amazing fashion. The main problem is that his resume lacks a REAL name. He never actually faced anyone who was top 3-4 at the time (the only exception being Gonzalez). The other problem is that his resume is seriously contaminated by fighting guys like Murdoch, Santiago, Blades and Abron in world title bouts. If he fought those guys as tune-ups I wouldn't say a bad word but as Murdoch as a world championship challenger... come on! Oh and baily; please stop saying this Cloud and Campillo ducked Erdei crap. There were talks, but Universum didn't pay enough. It wasn't because they were afraid or anything it's just the money wasn't good enough. Simple as that. Same thing happened with Tiozzo: there were some talks about a unification after he beat Michalczewski but the two managements couldn't agree on the money.
I presume you referring to me, if so, the names Bailey not Baily. You got it? Cloud and Campillo did duck Erdei :rofl. As noted Erdei fought some good opposition and some of the other guys he fought are considered bad competition, but then exceptable for Tarver and Green after Erdei has beaten those guys atsch
Regarding the "who ducked Erdei" question three things are pretty obvious to me: 1. Universum conducted several talks with: Tiozzo, Green, Garay (when he was WBA champ), Campillo and Tavoris Cloud. 2. None of those wanted to risk their titles. 3. Probably because Erdei was a high risk low reward opponent and Universum did not want to pay enough. Tiozzo and Green retired instead, Campillo fought Shumenov and Cloud did not fight for a year. Still, I am wondering why it was more benefitial for Campillo to face Shumenov in Kazakhstan than to face Erdei. Regarding Erdei's resume: it is crap, but i would still favour him over: Pascal, Johnson, Cloud, Brähmer, Cleverly, Shumenov, Campillo. I would favour Hopkins and Dawson if they fought. I hope we will see him facing at least one of these guys next year.
LMFAO at this cat! The dude is so content on bigging up his Euro fighters that he's going to the lenghts of making a ****ing fool of himself...I bet you if a Euro fighter was gay...His dumbass would defend it!:rofl:rofl
How nasty of you to turn on someone for their opinion. What a vile person you are :dead. The guy likes a certain fighter and his style, wherever hes from. That fighter dosent need bigging up because he has had a fantastic career already. 2 weight champ former WBO LHW champ 11 defences and then went up a division and in his first fight at a new division beat the WBC CW champ. Great fighter who has gone under the radar
