A disgraceful decision by corrupt judges. There should be an immidiate rematch and an investigation of the judges. Hoever I am sure this was ordered result from the UFC top so they will ofcourse back the corruption. Disgusting.
I thought Shields won myself. SD was the correct call. Doesn't matter anyway, GSP's gonna easily pass that ****.
If this was a boxing match then there would be an out cry and the robbed fighter and his team would call for investigations. The sad thing is that in UFC robberies just slowly fade away because Kampmanns loss was ordered by his own boss .... Of which there is only one. So if Kampmann want to get favoured (or even get more fights) in the future then he better say something like " it was a close fight and I thouth I won but it was close and bla bla". This shows that while there are less discussions of robberies in the UFC than boxing, it is because they all have one boss and just have to accept the loses. This also means that in order to beat an american favorite you have to knock him out - otherwise UFC works like WWE. All planned ahead of time.
Kampmann didn't do much, shields controlled it. Unless you want to deduct points for Shields getting tired I don't see how you can score that fight for Kampmann. Clear 29-28 Shields win.
You must be in love with Shields to say that. It seems you forgot the amount of jabs and knees that Shields ate all night while not doing anything in return.
Shields somewhat controlled where the fight went, but the thing is, he totally failed to inflict damage when he took the fight there. So, he got full mount in the second, he didn't land a single shot, Kampan was able to buck him off, get back to standing and landed knees to his face. That was pretty much the entirety of round 2. Round 3. Shields was dominated until the last 90 seconds of the round, where he got full mount and landed nothing significant, his hammer punches were PATHETIC. He got Kampmans back, and that wasn't even a real rnc attempt. Meanwhile, Kampman was putting more effort in his guillotines, and landing the better strikes. He inflicted more damage in all but the first round, where nothing seemed to happen at all. Changing up of positions, Kampman landing some meaningless jabs, several stuffs, and shields with a takedown. Where he inflicted zero damage. Contrast this with what Diego Sanchez did when he had dominant position, and I think you see what the heck I've been going on about. If you have a position and do nothing with it, it shoudln't mean anything. Diego had position and worked his ass off, inflicted more damage than the counter subs were even remotely worth.
Fights are not scored only on damage. You might think they should be but that's another argument. Control is a big factor and Jake controlled where the fight was taking place and mostly on top for two rounds.
Obviously you are a boxing only fan Shields controlled that fight took abit of damge but was only in trouble due to gassing and not so much from what Kampmann was doing.
Shields won this fight, majority of the fight was on the ground which Shields controlled, Kampmann did well to get back to his feet, a few times from under full mount but unfortunetaly for him you don't get points for standing up.
