This was one if not the most exciting HW fight i have ever seen.

Sorry folks, Lennox promised a rematch while i intervied him but later on called me and apologized for not having the guts.

A real Champion does not retire like that. :nono

I think this is sarcasm but you are right, it does not matter who is ahead on the cards. When a boxer is cut by punches and the fight is stopped, he loose.

Lewis won TKO 6 and the rematch would have gone better for Lewis becaus Lewis was always better in the rematches. Emanuel Steward is one of the best trainers who can analyse fights. Now he is with Wladimir and everybody can see how good it works.

Lewis feels the age and he retires as a great Champion. I hope Wladimir will do the same. Not waiting until everybody can see the age hurts the Champ.

    This gif confuses me.

Because Vitali apparently is the KO king of heavies, and Lewis is supposed to have a glass jaw.

So, how does that all work then?

Watching that uppercut from Lewis tells me Vitali has a very very good chin, and also that if the fight had carried on, the way it was going he would have just kept eating more and more of those.

The fight had gone into punch, punch grab mode. Thing is, when it was in close, Lewis had that punch, something he'd used a lot in the past. Vitali didn't.

"Will you give him a rematch?" - "If he calls for it and the money is right - definitely"! He said it.

Yes he said it my friend.

He called for it and the money was more than right but Lennox chose the easy way out.

A shame...his legacy will always have that bitter taste.

Vitali sent Lennox into retirement. True story.

    Lewis won.

The winner did not need to make a rematch.

Lewis retired as a great Champion and behave like one.

Lewis was one of the great Champs in boxing history and retired at the right time.

Great fight. I thought Lewis was going to go in that second round!

I wish the ref was a bit younger and mobile. I swear, a healthy mobile ref that could stay in position to break fighters (Bayless) would change many fights.

Well Marry, you might want to learn how to spell your friends name correctly...it'll still make you a V.K. nut hugger, but it may add a bit to your cred.

I think Lewis was heading towards a TKO victory one way or another, but had the fight continued he would have needed to get it done soon.. Max Kellerman commented on how tired and exhausted Lennox looked, and the shots he was taking from Vitali, weren't getting any softer.. Sure, those cuts over Vitali's eye, were going to cause problems, but I still say that Lewis needed to win within the next two rounds. Had that fight still been in progress by the 9th, there would have been a good chance for Vitali to score a stoppage, as Lewis was fading.
