Get the **** out of here, Lewis fought a prime Briggs and got him out of there in the first half of the fight, now ten years later, Vitali who had his face ripped off by Lewis ends up going the distance with a ten year older version of Briggs....
I am sure Lewis is Glad he didnt bother rematching this chump, he already beat him.

The fight that I saw had Lennox using forearms (warned), elbows (warned) and lower side of the gloves (warned) to shove Klitschko's face, causing or contributing to the cuts. If the ref is alert, he rules that the cuts were caused by a foul, if 'accidental', the SAME FIGHT goes to the scorecards and Vitali wins by unanimous technical decision. The same fight! If of course the ref rules the fouls intentional, Lewis loses by disqualification.

"B-b-b-b-b-ut I beat his face to a bloody mess" you certainly did, MMA-style
"B-b-b-b-b-ut I was out of shape" yeah, very likely 2 fights after you got KTFO by Rahman for the same reason
"B-b-b-b-b-ut I was shot" certainly looked like shot in the last outing vs Tyson, in "my career defining fight"
"B-b-b-b-b-ut I was overweight" yeah, 6 pounds off the Tyson weight makes a difference for a 250lbs man!

Lewis has a right to try and break free when he is being held which is why Vitali got the forearm in his face... holding is also a foul and he should have lost fights for holding when he didnt have to and potentially DQ'd for it...
Bottom line Lewis stopped Vitali, Live with it Lewis knocked out briggs Vitali did not.... Live with that... Lewis True ATG... Vitali well no where near it yet.

Lennox Lewis will forever be remembered for the man who bitched out of a rematch with the great Vitali Klitschko. Black racists will always lurk on this board and pathetically try to diminish the magnificent achievements of the K-bros this past decade. Their dominance has almost been unbelievable. It's getting to the point where opponents of these two all-time great heavyweight champions are lucky to land BODY shots. They certainly haven't been able to land significant head shots on either bro for years and years now. The Klit bros will continue to triumph in the ring and the vile haters will continue to hate.

Its called denial. Athletes can never accept they just dont have it anymore, and so Briggs logic is Vitali must be brilliant, as he couldnt possibly be that bad.
His logic IMO is look I gave Lewis a tough few rounds, but I couldnt land a punch on this guy who couldnt miss me. No Shannon, its just your so immobile now.

There is a real possibility Lewis could have lost to Vitali in a rematch, especially if he had lost hunger for boxing, but there is also the chance he did what he did to Rahman.

I can absolutely live with that, was a big Lewis fan after all. :yep But I still got valid points. And BTW, Lennox held, he's a Steward pupil and as such often holds (like Wlad who I dislike for that). Vitali almost never does (different style) and watch who ties up here. But even if he did, it hardly justified Lewis to be dirty and open a cut with illegal tactics, which led to or contributed to this so called legit victory, behind on the cards.

The fight was incredibly close to be a technical decision victory for Vitali as if there's a cut, the refs must determine whether punches or fouls opened them up. This one didn't say a word so it's a 'legit' TKO win for Lennox, but many others would've checked Vitali after one of these fouls and said they opened the cuts up, which means we're going to the cards after 6 with Vitali ahead. It is a Lennox win in the history books, period, but he hardly got the better of the boxing match, that's why the crowd booed him and cheered Vitali, and everyone wanted the rematch. It was a fair fan demand, if Lewis really came in unprepared (two fights after the Rahman loss because of that), why didn't he rematch Vitali, pick up tons of money and knock him out so we wouldn't have this conversation? But he didn't, and I'm glad, because rather this conversation than the next Mayweather-Pacquiao thread. :thumbsup

nice fight. just resembled an MMA fight because of too much hugging by lewis at many points in the fight.

but ****, that cut was ugly.
