Which fight made you a hardcore fan of a certain fighter?

thats a good first fight must be hard to live up too

 

Mayweather v N'dou.

I'd seen a good number of his bouts before this, but in this bout...he just showed the perfect mix of offense and defense.

 

JMM-Pac1 - Marquez has been my favorite ever since. He was lucky to get the draw probably, but jesus what a warrior. (And i think he clearly got jobbed in the rematch)

 

I got hardcore into boxing with the Tito and Vargas fight...I was about 12 or 13 at the time and I'd been a casual fan up to that point. I'd never really seen an epic fight like that before though and I was more into karate because I'd been studying that since I was 6...but the Tito fight blew me away....a week later karate was a distant memory even though I was only one belt below black lol...never stepped inside another dojo(another factor was that I would have had to wait until I was 16 to get my black belt because I live in Canada...WTF). Since then I've seen damn near every random fight that has ever been recorded...and I haven't missed a single PPV since like 2004 lol

 

First time I saw Tyson's highlights, It became an addiction to watch Tyson fight...

 

Holyfield-Dokes - Up until that fight I was a casual boxing fan. That fight made me a hardcore fan of both boxing and Evander Holyfield.

 

Morales - Pac I
just that last round, and yes people may say oh but morales had many great fights before this, but this was the fight that made me become a die hard eric morales fan...

Oh and im probably going to get stick now from all *******s ohh its because morales beat pac blah blah.... no its not

 

erik morales wayne mcullagh. morales hit wayne with everything he had and he still kept marching forward.

Mcullagh also said Erik hit harder than Naz.

 

Great fight. No one could watch that fight and not come away with massive resect for El Terrible

 

and Morales and Pacqiauo 1 where Pac assaults him in the first and Morales beats his chest and beats Pac half way across the ring!!!

 

I became a fan of Augustus when he had a FOTY with Ward.

 

I've been a boxing fan since the mid 1960's, so there are way to many examples to list. Holyfield was the only guy who ever made me a "harcore" fan before he even turned pro.

Nah even the most hardened Pac fan would give props to Moarles for that performance and of course the offer of rematches. Pac marquez made me think higher of marquez! and even barrera after he went the distance in the rematch. Just goes to show how many great fighters Pac has fought regardless of your opinion on the Mayweather fight.

 

the fight that made me a real fan of boxing in general was hagler hearns. i still have vhs with all the fab four fighting.

as i live in Ireland i have to stay up to five in the morning to watch big fights from the us. only sport would be willing to do it for.
