Floyd's footwork is above any fighter in this era..

His spacing with the jab, feints, pull counter and defense shoulder roll "ducking" is second to none.

Impressive.He's the best defensive fighter I have seen.

Floyd is far less mobile than he used to be, but as you said, he always maintains terrific balance. His great balance stems from his solid footwork. It's just always solid and has him in the right position to land a counter. It's one of the things that lets Floyd live so comfortably in the pocket.

 

When you got natural skills and speed like Floyd, all you need is the hard training and conditioning. Floyd has put it all together and that's why he's such a great fighter. Good balance when you move is very important in every sport and Floyd has the best balance and footwork of any fighter I've seen today. That's why he's always in position to counter or avoid punches, and it's the reason why you never see him go down. It was amazing to watch him work in the Marquez and the Mosley fights. I have to give credit where credit is due.

 

Im a huge JT fan but footwork?? Have you seen the man fight? He relies on upper body movement, not footwork. In fact, i would argue he's actually quite flat footed.

 

Yeah, James was pretty slow of foot. He actually relied on being there throw at so he could roll off shots and counter back with his heavy right. It isn't the point of the thread, but that's a little oversight. I see similarities in their styles, but it doesn't have to do with their fancy footwork or whatever.

He has incredible footwork when it comes to ***** footing out of fights for bull**** reasons.

 

He can have the best defense, fastest hand speed, fastest footwork and everything in the world but as long as he doesn't have his so called "URGE" to fight then all of that is just for nothing. So why not run to your master and ask him what you can do to help him get his "URGE" back and tell me maybe I can help too.

Reminds me of Ellerbe during the weigh-in with Mosley when he got clotheslined? How could it be possible that a man the size of Karceno be able to cover that distance in an instant to defend his Gayweather? Amazing.
