atsch It looks like your smartass needs to think before you post. I guess people dont really process posts that much anymore at esb. When did I ever say anything negative about who beat Hatton? Actually I even stated that I didnt think Gatti was the same fighter as Hatton.
I'd give Hatton the edge, but not without taking some thunderous shots and even an early knockdown by Gatti. Gatti always did good with face first pressure fighters, but at 140 I don't think he had the pop he had at 135. Still, back and forth fight where Hatton would lay down some of his own power, enough to humble Gatti. Would of been a great fight though.
Manfredy would stand a damn good chance of beating Hatton as well, as would a prime Robinson. Hatton is maybe a thin cut above those fighters, he's not a whole step over them. Any one of them on any given night, on neutral ground with a neutral ref, could beat Hatton. ****, at his best I would FAVOR Manfredy over Hatton.
This thread is hilarious. Hatton was at least one level above Gatti. Hatton has wins against a P4P fighter in Tszyu and the top fighters in his division. Gatti's best wins are against.....who?
Hatton would batter Gatti (RIP). I'm sorry but Hatton is either being seriously underrated here, Gatti is being overrated or people have just not seen enough of eithers fights. Hatton is a level above, Gatti wasn't a great boxer but a great warrior and against Hatton that is only going to mean you take a good beating for longer. A prime Hatton was fast, constant head movement, powerful and relentless for 12 rounds, The only version of Hatton Gatti stood a chance against is the flu ridden version that fought Lazcano
Note to fan boy.... Gatti wasn't elite level so irrelevent to thread. Gatti didn't have great power at 140lbs and certainly nothing like Kostya Tszyu landed on Hatton
great fight, prime for prime hatton wins. Gatti is massively overratted. For guts, amazing fighter and for what hebrought to boxing he will always be a boxing icon and be remembered for ever. However but him against anyone very good upwards to world class and he gets beat.
This! WTF?! Come on guys...it would have been a war, but no doubt in my mind hatton takes this fight.
Cant believe people are picking Gatti here. The real reason as to why Hatton moved up to welter to fight Collazo was not because he was chasing Mayweather but was chasing Gatti. Gatti plays solely into Hatton's style. Hatton wins by early TKO.
Hatton was several levels above Gatti, whose fame and success were due to his heart and exciting fights, not his skills. Some of the responses in this thread are unbalanced to say the least.
